Boston College Women's Hockey - 2012-2013 Season Thread

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey - 2012-2013 Season Thread

Wow someone deleted my post? Seriously? I'll be sure to temper my posts with all the love and sensitivity necessary for a "women's" forum from now on.

I just love ol' Mercyhurst! I think they're super duper, guys! Hugs & kisses all around!

The feigned affection was probably unnecessary since there is a high probability that it was me who inadvertently deleted your post last night, as impossible as that may sound.

I posted to the UMD thread and when the program took me to my post I saw that it had somehow ended up in the BC thread. So, I immediately attempted to delete it but the program wouldn't respond coherently and kept asking me if I wanted to delete the post after I had already told it several times that I did. To make matters worse it was hesitating for 10-20 seconds between commands and the screen was jumping around...something was malfunctioning to say the least.

Earlier I had problems with the cursor not moving while I was typing...and therefore not accepting what I had entered. I've had this problem intermittently now for the past several weeks. Anyone else having this problem? Maybe those in charge should look into this.

Anyway, I eventually had to delete my post by backspacing it into oblivion and when I finished I checked the previous post which seemed to be the same one that was there earlier, so everything looked the same to me as it was prior to my post being...misposted.

So most likely no one consciously administered an antidote to your venom. The thought police haven't invaded this forum in large numbers...yet. And that's a good thing.

Hey, much respect for the post. Clearly losing to Mercyhurst got to me. I should probably take a chill pill anyway.

Thanks.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey - 2012-2013 Season Thread

.... played this weekend with nearly the entire team ill with the flu

Second week in a row a top contender team team fan uses that as an excuse. Every team typically has off games due to this. Injuries and illness are a teams worst enemy sometimes. Rarely will a team go through an entire season without some major bug hitting the team.

I hope that isn't what happened. A more likely explanation would be that the system was having problems around that point of time and posts were lost. Unless you are either a forum moderator or the thread creator (vell'), then you should have zero ability to change or remove a post by another user. There have been cases in the past where the system crashed and posts went into the bit bucket. Maybe even something more valuable than a TTT-off-his-meds rant.

Anyway, I agree with the others and hope the Skarupa will be fine. Injuries to anyone suck. :(

That's what I thought and do think and that's why I said "as impossible as that may sound". The screen was doing some strange things, so who knows? It may have moved to Antoine's post without my knowing it and actually taken one of my "delete" commands while it looked to me like it was failing to act on my commands other than to give the appearance of its brain being overloaded and its having a resulting meltdown.

Re: Boston College Women's Hockey - 2012-2013 Season Thread

several players in emerg on IV during the week and 1 player taken to the locker room for IV during yesterday's game for dehydration due to throwing up...Mercyhurst ladies rallied to come up with the win..penalties or no penalties..they earned the win

Wow! That certainly goes above and beyond giving it "the old college try".

Ultimately a character builder that should hold them in good stead in the long run...meaning, apres hockey.

So what happened to the post that I responded to with the above captioned quote?

Was it BS and removed by its poster or is this more BM (Black Magic) and another post got vaporized?

Most certainly wasn't BS ..I deleted it myself as it is apparent that it is pointless to reply to most comments made on this forum as
the sincerity of the return response is most often one of unbridled sarcasm

I don't think Blackbeard was being sarcastic; I took it as a genuine compliment. Everyone I've ever met from this forum is nice in person, so give people the benefit of any doubt. Sometimes we just disagree on a point regarding hockey; it doesn't mean we just want to start fights.

Perhaps I was quick to judge ...it is difficult to tell sometimes

He's even met *me* before!
Twice and I was honored both times. I have the utmost respect for anyone that will travel cross country to watch a regular-season women's hockey series when they are not related to any of the participants.

I have no idea how you could have interpreted my comment to be one of sarcasm...and the unbridled version to boot.

To be as clear as I can be, I meant it as a gigantic compliment to those players who had to endure that experience.

And it certainly should hold them in good stead as a character builder for the rest of their lives...how many people can say that they were given an IV so they would be able to play in a hockey game? Although the first order of affairs with the IV's was to get them back into a healthier condition, the ultimate purpose was to get them well enough to be able to decently compete in a hockey game.

Kind of reminds me of Bobby Baun who with a broken ankle got back on the ice in his position of defence with the Leafs to finish the Stanley Cup game (might have been the final game which they won, if I recall) back in the '60's!

Although I don't think that their situation was exactly like Baun's since he had a logical option that he could have excercised and I don't think that they did, I still have huge respect for them...your explanation of what happened immediately got my attention and I thought that it was worthy of comment...meaning a complimentary one, which is what I posted, even if it was a brief one and somehow not the one that you received.
