You didn't see the scene in Harvard Square right outside of Out of Town News? You could see the Harvard T station in the background.

Absolutely.

From watching the episode once.

They walked through the BC campus and talked about BC and sat in on a class there.

They walked around Tufts I believe and had a scene outside looking over the Boston skyline from out there.

They showed some pictures of BU and were seen walking around near the Marsh Chapel.

They did a fly over of the HU stadium and had a fairly long scene outside of the T stop at Harvard Square at night.

Good episode. Haven't watched SNL much since season 1. Great, great show. I can't believe they got the little girl that was friends with the Olsen twins in Full House.

Is it possible to not comment and then...comment? This is classic hokydad. Try not to toot your own horn so hard.

I work on campus but I don't remember ever hearing anything about filming going on. I'm kinda surprised that that type of thing didn't get around.
Oh, I remember them filming it. It was early this academic year I think. The general feeling around campus was "Oh that's cool. I'm going to go back to studying."

While I have an email all set to send to the folks I know on BU's campus tomorrow asking them why on God's earth did I NOT get a phonce call or an email to head down there so I could watch. :)

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

If you caught it, in the interview scene, there is a Tufts folder on the desk, too.

They transitioned to from BU to BC in a pretty muddled fashion (I caught the BC sweatshirt in what I thought was supposed to be a BU lecture hall, too). After the scene on the quad, Tami and Julie are having a conversation on a park bench about how the mom really wanted to go to "this school", but it isn't the BC campus. It then goes on to the Tufts interview, so maybe it's Tufts. Or maybe it's some anonymous spot at UT, since the show is filmed in Austin.

Oh, and Melissa noted that Hayes went to Chicago, but he went in the 1st round, 24th overall./

?? Is this directed at me or the BU Melissa? Kevin was drafted first round; Jimmy was acquired for a second round pick. I don't even remember posting anything on here. I was busy updating my blog where - shameless promotion - you can find galleries for 57 of the drafted kids (shot a smaller percentage of picks this year than last, but it is what it is). http://hockeyphotography.com/blog/ And, while I'm being shameless, why not buy a print of a 2010 draftee by your favorite team (unless your favorite team is Buffalo, Philadelphia or Vancouver as I didn't have any of theirs, but sure I have past ones) or screw the NHL and buy a print of your favorite national champion Eagle.

It's quite clear that the phrase should now be "toot your own vuvuzela."

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Haven't been around USCHO much lately so I'm not sure what the take on this on the boards has been but I just thought I'd stop by to say how impressed I've been with the BC athletic department's handling of the T incident from start to... well whatever stage we're at now. Everything that's come out of the offices over there has been very classy and I think credit is especially deserved for the tempered response to the most recent news about the T driver's involvement. Something to be proud of for all you Eagles (on top of a national championship, screw you!).

Oh.. and BC sucks.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

The MBTA was certainly quick to pass judgment when this happened and BC did the smart thing by staying quiet and letting the facts come out.

i thought harvard and MIT actually didnt allow any filming on their campus... see good will hunting and a beautiful mind (i think).

according to wiki i was half right

Since the filming of Love Story in the 1960s, the university, until the summer of 2007 filming of The Great Debaters, did not allow any movies to be filmed in campus buildings; most films are shot in look-alike cities, such as Toronto, and colleges such as UCLA, Wheaton and Bridgewater State, although outdoor and aerial shots of Harvard's Cambridge campus are often used.

so maybe it was just a cost issue that they opted for aeiral shots of harvard as opposed to on campus shots like BC and BU.

I heard that as well (though I don't know how they filmed With Honors as the entire movie took place at the school), but the FNL scene was in Harvard Square, not on the actual campus so I guess that was OK.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Geez, I didn't know that many people liked FNL. I knew we BC people (and Scarlet!) had good taste ;)
