Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Personally I think Milner should be gone and Wey & Samuelsson get a semester long suspension.

Is the type of person that would run when your teammates are hurt and one of your teammate's girlfriends is trapped in a car really the type of person you want on your team?

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

It says she wasn't drinking, not that she was sober.

Again, police responded. I don't believe for once second she was drunk and nobody noticed/nothing was done about it.

Again, how do we know the other two players didn't tell him to take off with the booze? That's why I don't think it's fair to judge Milner. Only Wey and Samuelsson know the whole story. You can bet York will get to the bottom of it.

Not sure which is worse, that site or Michael Felger.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

It's on the front page of espn.com now. Will this get more ink than that little trophy they won a few weeks ago?

Exactly why it needs to be drilled into their heads that they represent more than themselves.

I agree, if she was drunk it probably would have come out by now; however, at the same time the fact that BC crafted a statement that failed to say she was sober at the time does raise my suspicions a bit.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

I'm glad everyone seems to be fine. I feel bad for the passengers since they really had no involvement in the accident. If the driver was drunk and they knew it, well, they have some responsibility there. I feel bad for the T driver too. Any accident involving a trolley where the accident occurs in the front cab, the operator is suspended for a couple days. No matter who was at fault.

Edit: Oh well now that I read that the BC guys fled the scene. I no longer feel that bad for them. Glad they were not hurt, but they deserve whatever punishment is on the way.

In the days before the internet, this story would be a non-story.

But as we've seen over and over again, these kinds of stories now go global with a click of a button, and college reputations suffer when this stuff happens.

As a result, when you elect to wear the colors of your school on a high profile, revenue sport like D-I hockey, you are making a deal that says in return for the high honors and benefits that other students don't get as a hockey player, I volunteer to keep my nose clean and not do negative things that may get into the headlines.

These guys did something stupid, and the price needs to be paid. York will do the right thing.

Again, because she wasn't drunk/drinking doesn't mean she was sober.

Why drink and drive when you smoke and fly??? Or so the saying goes....or as eaglefan902381238 would call it a .....proverb.

I mean how do you miss a freaking trolley? Its not like a dog ran out in front of her.

Having been there back in the day, it's hard for me to call what they did stupid. Just grateful they were allegedly with a capable driver. Bottom line is, they took a gamble and it didn't pay off. Agree that punishment is in line.

I really don't know why I'm going through this with you, but police responded to the scene, no? What exactly are you suggesting? That she was on other drugs? I'm going by what happened. The driver wasn't cited for anything indicating she wasn't capable of driving.

Umm yeah that is exactly what I'm suggesting. She may have been texting, or combing her hair, but you don't just miss a trolley coming at you, I don't care how blonde you are.

You are going by what happened? So you were there? Why didn't you say so?

She wasn't cited for anything indicating she wasn't capable of driving? You mean that she was capable of driving?

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

This thread would have been boring without some jcarter...
Bravo!

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

Any more reckless accusations you want to throw out there? I'm going by what's being reported, tool. When there's something reported on the driver doing anything you're suggesting, let us know.

As for a trolley coming right at her, you make it sound like a straight line head on collision. That's not what happened. There was a U turn involved. Being a hillbilly, you might not know much about the Green line. Would I have run into the trolley's path? No, but if you want to make this a referendum on her driving skills, that's completely different than the involvement of three BC hockey players as passengers.

Re: Boston College Offseason Thread: Basking in the glow.. again

I inferred that the driver was sober because she had not been charged with DUI.
