Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

BCHockeyBlog (is that you, Grant?) is now saying it's Paul Pearl.

Anyone have any input to the Mount Rushmore thread?
Nope, not me. I'm with BCI (and @Salzano14 on twitter). BCHockeyBlog is The Kid™.

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

i did, Snooks Kelly, Jerry York, Brian Gionta and Joey Mullen. I am not sure if any other BC poster put anything in...........maybe they all agreed:eek:
The first 3 are a given. The 4th is worth having some debate over. I've heard Mottau and Gerbe thrown in there. Can we put Stack or Schaus?

David Emma? Brian Leetch?

From another BU fans perspective - you could make an argument for Emma - played 4 years, won the Hobey. LBut I can't see how anyone would consider Leetch. He was an outstanding talent, among the top players to ever play in Hockey East, but he played for only one year. Same reason Tony Amonte wasn't high on anyone's BU list. Possibly the most talented player ever to play at BU, 126 points in two seasons, but again, only played two seasons.

Yeah I thought about that a bit too. I guess it's all in the criteria used to gain "mount Rushmore" status. Is it biggest contributions to the program? Simply the best players / coaches? Overall accomplishments? Kariya is getting a lot of votes at Maine and Eruzione is getting his share of bu votes even though what he is most know for was not while he was at BU.

I voted Leetch.

I saw your post on the Rushmore thread and no need for further input. Looks good to me. :)

That certainly is a great quartet. Just to spice it up for the BC people -if you had to replace one of these four with one other BC star, who would be out and who would you add?

Mike Brennan, dump Mullen.

Hmmm... Snooks is a given, as are Jerry York and Brian Gionta, IMO. Gionta was the leader on the ice at the beginning of Jerry's and BC's great run to the present. There have been many great players and leaders since and they have done a superb job of maintaining the greatness that was started in the late 90's.

That being said... if I had to replace anyone on the list, I'd replace Joey Mullen with Mike Cavanaugh. Cavs has been there side by side with Jerry York since the beginning building this program to where it is today.

c'mon!!!! :D

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Anyone who thinks Joey Mullen isn't one of the top four people in the Boston College program's history is out of their minds.
