Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

The Rangers had hoped Kreider would leave BC after last season, but the winger, committed to getting his degree, declined the team’s repeated requests and returned for his junior season.

“We thought he was ready, but it’s not what we think, it’s what he thinks,” said Gordie Clark, the Rangers’ Director of Player Personnel who made Kreider the 19th overall selection of the 2009 Entry Draft. “Chris had been unhappy with the end of his sophomore year and wanted to go back and win a national championship.”

You know, I could have sworn our resident expert Hokydad claimed this wasn't true. Somebody is full of it with regard to Kreider's "negotiations" last summer and I highly doubt it is Gordie Clark...

I posted on EA that Kreider was probably gone. The Rangers put an incredible amount of pressure on him. I was wrong about him leaving but not about the pressure.

The pressure is 110% true, York even joked about it offhand. It was also reported that the Rangers wanted him to go to Canada but Kreider had no interest.

opinions vary. Zero offers last year. Ask if interested? yes . Offers? nope.

No such thing as 110%

Re: Boston College Off-Season Thread: 2012 National Champions

Is it possible Mr. and Mrs. Kreider fibbed a little bit when you asked them so it wouldn't get posted all over the internet?

nothing to do with his parents

end result, who cares. he didnt sign. there was nothing to offer, max contract is max contract

Just a random thought: What's it like playing for Jerry York and Tortorella in the same season? A slight contrast in coaching styles??

Yeah, I commented on that to the ladyfriend during his first game where I saw Torts go into one of his f bomb laced diatribes -slight difference in how they go about their jobs.

Pat Mullane Captain , Whitney and Wey A's
Like the group. Mullane is a great kid and will be a great captain.

I played street hockey with Torts in Concord, MA. He and I were in the same high-school class at Concord-Carlisle. Unhappily, I was always the goalie and although I was reasonably good that orange ball always left bruises.

Can they even watch the playoffs? Albert & Pierre went on another BC monologue talking about Harrold & Gionta last night.
