Former Junior Bruins defenseman Josh Couturier is leaving Boston College. Look for him to end up north off 95 at another Hockey East school.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

He would have been one of 8 dmen, normal amount. Could have stayed and competed but certainly a better opportunity for him at UNH. Now you wonder if there is any walk on BC can bring in at this stage.

One thing remains the same. York will play anyone, anywhere. Doesn't control the league schedule and obviously Wisconsin and CC have been down in recent years but you don't know that when you make these schedules. I believe most the time these non conference games are agreed on well in advance.

5 game road trip to start the year

.....5 game road trip to start the year
but against what is not exactly the IRON of College hockey ;)

Ooops, I was thinking Wisco, CC and Merrimack, not considering the Icebreaker with potentially Denver.

right but as i said, i am pretty sure these agreements with wisconsin and cc were in place years ago. obviously wisconsin and cc historically have been very good programs.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Thanks. Guess I'll just wait until the day before the season starts, when BC releases the schedule

That's our tricky method to get people in the seats for the free exhibition game: Give them a copy of the secret schedule as they enter. Wait, better do it at the end of the game to keep them in their seats and focused on the sheet of ice and not on the eye opening sheet of paper.

The schedule prints out on the receipt of a concession stand purchase during the exhibition game. :D

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I'm genuinely concerned this year. BC returns some good players (White, Fitzgerald, Cangelosi, Gaudreau, and Calnan), but they lack a lot of depth. I think they'll benefit from this class in the coming years because no one except maybe Woll will leave early (I think there's a chance Woll leaves after his junior season). Our recruiting class next year is legit. Hutsko, Tortora, Cassetti and Tolvanen will be much needed additions. I'm not worried at all about Tolvanen. His brother plays college hockey, and he already stated he is coming back to the USHL this year, which is a huge blow to Oshawa since he could have gone there this year. It wouldn't make much sense to return to the USHL for a year only to go to the OHL afterwards. He'll be (IMO) the best freshman in college hockey next year. As for this year, I expect White to be a Hobey Baker finalist, along with Boeser and Keller (as much as it pains me to include a BU player). I think BC will finish anywhere from 3rd to 5th. As long as York is at the helm, BC will be good. I'm looking at the 2018-19 season as a potential banner year (especially if Tolvanen sticks around for a second year). We'll have a strong junior class with an excellent sophomore class. Walsh and Giles will be impact freshman almost immediately. Can't wait for the season to start!

You've got to hand it to Buttcutt Bates, he's surpassing Napoleon Flipper by giving a winless-in-the-ACC coach a contract extension.
