Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Yeah, I figured as much. I think 2 years ago when I came out we had to get tickets to that game and another. And the Minnesota athletic department is no help. I apparently haven't given them enough money over the last 28 years to be on their "get tickets to away games" list...

I'll keep checking, but thanks for the insight!

You could try the Clarkson/St. Lawrence weekend. Think of it as a trip to Bemidji. :)

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Fire Daz.

We had the lead and as soon as he decided to run the ball up the middle 3 times, I knew we lost the game again ((

All we needed were first downs to run the clock down but this is old and to not have the guts to advance the ball and score or make first downs is totally a losers mentality thinking (( I got back late last night after hours and hours on the plane to DC, a 2 hour layover and 2 long hours flight back to Boston.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Yinzers will have no problem with Umass, right?

(Actually on ESPN one of the guys has y'all in a bowl game)

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Bowls have gotten so out of control i am pretty sure they had to use 5-7 teams to fill the gaps last year.

Easy to become bowl eligible when you play dregs like umass, wake, uconn, syracuse. Only problem is there is no guarantee BC beats these teams. Addazio did a nice job stabilizing the program the first couple years but he's a terrible in game coach. Honestly, best suited as an oline coach.

Don't forget about Wagner! Might scoop up some tickets on stubhub for that one if the price goes below $2.50!!

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Ha, odd to switch your number after three years I would think. He just couldn't wait for Silk to graduate!

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

No Birdsall. With no news from anyone out there about a transfer etc I think it's safe to say the rumors were true and that he is done playing hockey, period. The rumor was concussion issues. If that is the case, hope he's still enrolled and working towards a degree.

Absolutely. The worst part is the kid never really got a chance to at least soak up some success at this level. With Billet at least he had some big wins before the concussions issues got there.

Even without Birdsall they are still carrying 4 goalies as Joyce is still with the team.

How is it he still does not have a kicking game ? No guts to go for it when we all know the kicking game is horrible. 4th and short yardage he elects to kick and the kick is blocked or goes wide again (( those 2 missed FG were the difference again

As much as the strength of BC is the defense, they're still not that good when they have a tendency to give up the big play on 3rd and long

3rd and 20 and GT makes a first down (( ***

Brad is not much better as AD than GDF as far as hirings

Does anyone on the BC trustees board care at all ? NO

Just keep the checks coming.

(from 2014)
Keep in mind that all of this money goes to the conference, not to the team playing in the game. Most conferences split it equally between all 12-14 teams with an equal share also going to the conference office (although some give a bonus to the team participating in the game).

Power Five:

ACC

$50 million base to the conference

$6 million to the conference for FSU (Rose Bowl – CFP semifinal)

$27.5 million to the conference for Georgia Tech (Orange Bowl)

Total: $83.5 million to the conference

Conference distribution model: all bowl revenue is divided equally after expense allotments for the participating teams and is included in annual distribution along with other conference revenue. The only exception is Notre Dame (as it relates to football revenue), which is handled separately under a conference agreement that has not been made public.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Good luck to the oblongball Eagles. Here's hoping you guys win out the rest of the season because we're gonna need the strength of schedule to make a decent bowl.

EDIT: Just realized who you're playing today. 1-1 isn't that bad

Schedule is up. Exhibition game is being played at B's new practice rink.

Why don't we ever play the national development team? I remember it once. Think BU plays them every year. Can only help with recruiting, no?

The 2 Sunday afternoon games (Ariz St and Minn) not conflicting with Patriots games. That's a first.
