Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Figured Santini was going to pass up his final year. Thought Wood could have used at least another season at BC, but oh well.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I actually thought there was a chance both those guys would come back, makes you wonder how many guys they will end up losing.

Any time you can get three years from a 2nd round pick, you take it. Sometimes you get 4 years out of them. I do wonder if we see more and more situations where guys pull the Vesey/Hayes move, what that impact will be.

As for Wood, on the surface him leaving after one year seems odd. But i remember reading a few months ago that new jersey would try to sign him. He is physically ready for pro hockey and he came in as an older freshman. Gonna be 21 at start of next season.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

What trophy did you win???? Hobey Baker? noooooope. HE champs? noooppppppe. NCAAs??? NOOOOOPEEEE. Most underclassmen to leave a program? YEP

Hey, Brat. It's bad enough that you have polluted the NU thread. Why don't you leave these nice folks alone. They know how to win and lose with grace. They don't need your snippy, ill informed commentary.

Word out of Boston is that BC forward Adam Gilmour will forgo his senior season to sign with MIN. Gilmour was MIN 4th rder in 2012.

Oy. Less than one week, three early departures.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Another guy i thought would return. When's the last time an adam gilmour type player left BC early?

Anyone know if you can purchase tickets to north dakota game at MSG as part of season tickets? Or is it separate entirely?

I know. It's hard not to be worried about this. I certainly hope it's not the case, but this has the potential to be the worst offseason since 2001 when Kobasew, Kolanos, and Orpik all left early. BC was a .500 team the next season.

yeah the gimour news is surprising & frustrating. but to put it in perspective, gaudreau 0.54 ppg / Gilmour 0.63. he didn't exactly tear it up.

not sure re season tickets, unsurprisingly bc has been atrocious at communication regarding this event.

I think you can get early tickets starting tomorrow. You need a promo code from either BC or UND if you want to sit in their sections.

I'll find the link and post it.

I really want to go to this game but want to hold off on getting tix... will be interesting to see what sales look like in the early going.

This is a great time of year to go to NYC, take the kids, go to the Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall.

Honest to God, I can't say enough good things about the Sioux fans I ran into this weekend. Would be nice to meet up with them again. With these defections they are going to stick it in BC real good.

My wife and I are definitely going to look into this trip. I've been to NYC a number of times, but always during the summer. I think it would be fun to see what it looks like during the holidays.

The thing about making it all the way to the championship game is that it does have the effect of delaying the (inevitable?) signings of underclassmen. I fear that once the celebration of this week is over we will start to see the NHL poaching some of our sophomores and juniors.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

These defections are sad, yet represent the state of the game and the motivation behind these great talents. It's no longer the front of the jersey.

It can be both. You can love a school you play for but you also have to weigh your options and make decisions based on what you think is best for you personally.
