Boston College Hockey, Part II

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Don't forget about Carey. That was an enormous 45 seconds of hockey he had.
Geezusss... good call. How did I miss him? Probably the biggest hilite of the night was him single handedly keeping the puck in our O zone, allowing a BC line change and leading to Sneep's goal. He didn't even get an assist.

The whole team was great in my book. :)

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Come to Harvard's dim Bright Hockey Center at 5 to cheer on the BC women vs. BU in the women's Beanpot. Last week results were opposite of the men; hopefully this week, atleast in the BC/BU game, they'll match.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Yeah, you're right. Great plays by Nick Bonino, Zach Cohen, Chris Higgins and Matt Gilroy had nothing to do with that comeback.

If we're gonna call that a choke, what are we gonna call what Miami did late in the second period of the regional finals the year before?

"Great plays." Yeah.

Miami choked on the biggest of the biggest of stages, no need to argue it, just be glad it happened. Like I am about their epic sucktitude against BC in the NCAAs.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Come on, don't be dumb. Those were great plays. And BU had a great team all year. It's not like they pulled a UVM and got to the FF by barely beating a pair of stiff teams in the regional. They earned their way. Let them have their 2009, it was a great season. In 2010 though, it's going to be all about BC. :)

They earned there way to the finals and the title game. They were handed the title though.

Anybody know the time of the replay of the Beanpot on Saturday on NESN?

what an amazing shift. he stole the puck from shattenkirk both times. shattenkirk also had the failed pinch on the almeida goal. i guess he got shat himself.

interesting note, the faceoff after BU's timeout/nontimeout/ok timeout again was atkinson-gibbons-price-dumoulin-samuelson. then for the final faceoff with 1 second to go he changed to price-almeida-lombardi

They earned there way to the finals and the title game. They were handed the title though.

they also won on a lucky deflection vs UNH in the regional final with time running out and UNH dominating the 3rd, but, with out a doubt, they were THE best team in 2009, the record speaks for itself

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Anyone making the trip to Lowell on Friday? You guys should as I expect BC to win easily.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Gainzo, what is the ticket situation? Will I have trouble walking up to get tix at the door?

I'll be bringing some NHL scout friends of mine! :D

You can buy tix easily. I believe they are $14.

If you want you can sit behind me just yell out "Gainzo" at the Beer Works before the game :D

According to Ticketmaster, they are selling "best available" tickets in Section B so that is a pretty good indicator that there are still good seats available for the game. It is still early though and I think they will be expecting a huge walk-up.

..... but I really think Lowell will pick up at least 3 points this weekend.

If Hutton starts in net Friday, Lowell is going to win.

  What? Do you just try to smuck up to which ever teams thread you happen to be on?

I guess though it's hard to be wrong this way?? Wait, I get it.....you're Hendrickson. This way you can count your predictions as right no matter what the outcome is....

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

I was at the BC-Lowell game at Tsongas a few weeks ago. Lowell played the exact type of defensive game needed to beat the Eagles, not unlike the kind of game the Giants played against the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

So, BC has a score to settle this weekend and I think they will. I believe the Eagles will win both games.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

There's always a big BC turnout in Lowell. Seems like there's usually more BC fans at Lowell, Providence and Merrimack than there are at Conte.
