Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

every time i read crap that is this poorly written, i can only laugh at all the kids who have come through here saying 'i picked bu for journalism'

ho-k, sparky

Bleacher Report is not journalism. Also, this author clearly has very little journalistic training. I'm not sure how many journalism writing/reporting classes she's taken (if she's a sophomore, probably only one or two), but I can tell you she hasn't written anything for any student publications. Basically, my point here is that you probably shouldn't make any judgments about BU's journalism program based on this one article. Does BU have the best journalism program in the country? No. But it's definitely a very good program.

It's Beanpot week. What do you expect? :D

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

While it will be nice to see them compete against a good team, if BC didn't blow out PC and Harvard, you all would be posting about how they should be burying teams they should beat. When they do bury teams they should, you all discredit the effort, saying they haven't beat anyone good. Funny.

I have to disagree. I think most would be focused on how they're playing and not the actual score or opponent. They've weathered a bit of a storm in that they haven't let a three or two game losing streak extend to five, etc. This team is in a very good spot. Hopefully Cross is back out there tonight to take some pressure off of the top four.

14-8-2 (10-6-2)

Very simple to me: win tonight and BC is THE competition for UNH.

Hopefully Maine can rise up against their rival this weekend.

Just continue the offensive production and the compete level. Umass is a strong team, but BC looks like they have something going this year. A big league win tonight on the road before Monday's showdown would be huge.
Not quite sure how to take this post. Didn't think I was critical in my post, just agreeing with brightonjohn, who nailed it in his post. Didn't think either of us was discrediting the team either.

Facts: BC is 6-6-2 against TUC's, 8-2-0 against non TUC's. Wins against Teams Under Consideration get you in the big dance. An 8-2 record (or 50-0-0 for that matter), against the non-TUC's gets you squat, nada, unless you win your conference tournament.

So you see... just continuing the offensive production and compete level doesn't cut it. They've got to start WINNING games against TUC's, starting now, if they want to compete in the dance.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Cross back in the lineup. I suspect Alber gets a shot out there as the #6 guy...

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

That is one hell of a start in the first period for the Eagles. Great team D, penalty killing, and O. Wow. Keep it going like that for 40 minutes more. :)

Rant... Muse has gotten clocked twice in the first. Can't let this stuff continue or we're going to be a Museless team.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

i hope big y puts tissues on sale this week... there is going to be a lot of unhappy frat dudes running around.

that place is empty after 2 periods. hilarious.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Muse takes some more abuse in the second, and in his first game back, Tommy Cross steps up and takes 2:00 to defend his goaltender.

I pray to God that Cross's knees are heeled forever and he continues on to have a fabulous 20 year hockey career! :)

Edit: Milner replaces Muse to start the third. Wise move.

gotta love ben smith blocking shots in a 7-1 game. hope Price doesnt miss too much time, if any.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

That was another great showing by the Eagles. The O is really clicking, all lines. Welcome back Tommy Cross. D and Muse were great.
This game was over after 20 minutes, but we made sure of it over the next 20. :)

Let's go win a pot. Hope Price will be there playing.
Go Eagles.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Irony is thy name, Massman.

guy is stupid... if you don't see the logic in inviting as many youth hockey players are you can to games, you're a moron.

i remember commenting on being at the bc-lowell game up there last year when during the player intros they had a junior river hawk skate out with a big river hawk... effing brilliant!! how else are you going to get on a kids radar and make them dream about being an igle, or a river hawk, or a terrier when they grow up if you don't start young.

I think we finally destroyed his will to live. 4 months of arguing with the most depressing fanbase in Hockey East will do that you.
