Boston College Hockey, Part II

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Unrealistic? Guess what?... we play like we did on Saturday starting next weekend and we'll be bounced out of the NCAA's quicker than you can say, "at least we finished ahead of BU".

Are they Hockeyeast Champions? Yes. Did they win a title this weekend? Yes. No matter how they got it done, they got it done. They don't ask how, they just ask how many.

Also, when is the last time a BC hockey team didn't show up for a NCAA tourney game?

You all need to relax. Next time I'm at the garden, I'm going to be happy BC's banner is proudly hanging from the rafters for all to see. (I'll save the "yeah buts" to you all)

BC was able to win a title by playing their "B" or "C" game vs. Maine. Denver got trounced with their "B" game as did Miami.

2005 vs. North Dakota. What a nightmare that was.

They weren't right that entire weekend. They almost lost to Mercyhurst the night before. Didn't they lose Patrick Eaves to suspension that year due to the Exter collision? Losing him for those games was a big loss for BC.

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

A complete and utter train wreck. I remember turning to my brother after about ten minutes in with BC down 3-0 already and commenting that it was already over. That was not a fun day.

It's ok, BC made Dakota fans feel that way in 2006 and then 2007 and then in 2008. :)

Nobody is taking the HE title away from them, but what does the banner at the Garden have anything to do with the upcoming national tournament? If they don't play better than they did Saturday night, they will not advance to the FF. That's all people are saying. I fail to see how anyone needs to relax. We're not jumping off bridges here.

Weird. I think we Sioux fans share similar nightmares from a few different years. I'm not sure if it's the same for your fan-base, but mentioning Boston College anytime after January usually draws a grimace or some sort of puking motion.

Hopefully we don't get a repeat of that regional. UND had some snipers on that team that caught BC flatfooted. Collins had a good game. But let's not overlook Semi round opponents first.

You all need to relax. The team achieves one of their three or four pre-season goals, and all the fans can do is talk about how they will be beaten in the NCAA's if they play like they did when they won a Championship. Nothing is good enough for the entitled BC hockey fans. Jerry and co's success has created a monster.

As far as the if this and if that...

As a wise man once told me, "If ifs ands and buts were candies and nuts, oh what a christmas we'd have".

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

It looks like BC got that easy road to the final four that you all claimed Vermont got last year. First Alaska and then wouldnt this be fun...Yale.

Kenny, you seem to be missing something here. Nobody is overreacting. There is no sense of doom and gloom. It's perfectly ok to have concerns with how they played Saturday. I really don't understand why that's a big deal. You keep glossing over the fact that they did not play well. Again, everyone is thrilled that they won the Hockey East Championship. There is also no sense of entitlement. If they get beat at some point, they get beat. You're not gonna see people on here calling for York's head or anything like that. We want them to win the national championship, but to do that, they'll need efforts more like Friday against Vermont.

Hmm does Yale have a bye that we don't know about?

Oh I didn't realize the Yale-UND game was played.....when was that? After the selection show?

Re: Boston College Hockey, Part II

Just checking Heisenberg's list and realized Quinn Smith committed and I must have missed it....now I was wondering if that is Ben Smith's brother?

Let's keep it that way! :D
