sure, the thing is they played great in spurts friday night but it was uneven, for use of a better word and there is a lot Jerry can work on. what we may be seeing is that the talent level is such that even when they are not nearly at their peak, it's still quite a high level .......

It seems to me that they are just toying with these teams when they only win by a few goals.

As far as Arnold is concerned, I see him as a potential Mike Lephart type forward. Which is about as high of a compliment as I can give a guy.

It is quintessential Federal Hill but to each his own,the pie is a cross between NY style and sicilian and you can't beat the sauce........maybe then Al Forno might be your style..............Caserta's gets high marks in any ranking of pizzerias in the Bos-Prov area though, i digress
I am allllll about the New Haven style.

If you are in New Haven and are unsure of whether to have Sally's or Pepe's (the rivalry that makes Pinos/Prestos look like St. Lawrence vs. Nebraska-Omaha) - The answer is Sally's. The place is entirely run by BC fans. And the pizza is seriously unmatched. Except by maybe Pepe's, but their basically the same thing.

This doesn't have much to do with your line combos but something about Arnold. It has been great seeing his progression this year. I can definitely see him having the same career projection as Ben Smith. Will never be the best player on the team but will be an excellent 4 year, 2 way player .

Arnold has been a star at every level he's played at and would likely have been a 1st or 2nd rd draft pick if he had a bit more speed. He's a tank too, something like 5'11" 217 lbs and a real animal along the boards and in front of the net. We have another similar player coming in 2012, Frankie Vatrano, who's having a nice year on the US Development U-17 team and who's listed at 5'10" 214 lbs.

On a side note, Brendan Silk is finally playing for the US Development team. I thought he was going to miss at least a year after his injury, but apparently not. Good luck to him.

Arnie Davis, the Potato Pin man from Alfond Arena is celebrating his 90th birthday this week. I've started a birthday thread in the Cafe. Make sure to post your birthday wishes to one of the few gentlemen from Maine!

Good weekend for the boys over PC. Friars aren't much, but these games in January are the ones BC usually struggles in.

I'm glad you guys tried Caserta's, i like all styles ,my two passions BC hockey and pizza!:D i've tried the Pepe's in Manchester CT and it was good (i know, not the same thing but i didnt want to drive all the way to New Haven but will soon) and have been to the top NYC spots, Lombardi's, John's, Keste, Bleeker St and Grimaldi's in Bklyn but keep hearing about Pepe's, so it wont be long before i get there.I'd heard of Sally's but wasnt aware of the BC thing so maybe it'll be a lunch/dinner thing;) anyway, on to Orono for our guys and a chance for the rest of the league to catch up to us in games played and i do like that there is just the one game . There is that game, a BU and 2 UNH as far as games vs the top tier teams left. I liked the fact that the schedule was top heavy in that regard. . it sure seems like we are on another collision course with UNH at the end of the regular season

Eh?

The stat was a bit misleading. I think 6 of those were 10 second abbreviated power plays.

Look it up, they have had quite a few tie's, losses and one goal wins the past few years at PC. It's never an easy place to play for BC.

Also, they were 0-5 on the PP Friday night, so misleading or not, they failed to score a power play goal in 13 tries against Providence College. Needs to improve to sustain this winning streak.

In year's past, BC would suffer bad losses or, especially, blown leads that led to ties. This year's team seems to be avoiding those where bad games are leading to one -goal wins instead. I dont think they are playing their best hockey, but it is a testament to this team's talent when they can play B- efforts and still win night in and night out

Pepe's white clam and garlic might be the most incredible pizza I've ever had.

Ok, I put Pepe's in my contacts last night in case I'm heading through..... Now I just may make up an excuse to try and get down there.

To each their own, but white clam pizza sounds absolutely disgusting :p

wouldn't be my choice either but it's the pie they are most famous for (a buddy of mine swears by it). Just go with someone that DOES want to try it and you eat a slice of their's :p..........when i see salami as a topping offered at a pizzeria (Pepe's does), i know they get it. Once you have salami on it you will never have pepperoni . Great pizza talk BTW:eek: but i feel the need to try Sally's now too , TTT20

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

Please note you are not getting
1) crust
2) tomato sauce
3) mozzarella
4) clams
.... If you order this
;)

What the heck is it then? I'm easy to please when it comes to pizza, but when I lived in Allston...Bravo was #1.

I've never had it, but I've heard that it might be the best pizza in the world, believe it or not.

As far as Pepe's/Sally's: Be prepared for an extremely long wait both before and after you are seated. It depends on the hour of the day but you can be waiting an hour or so to be seated and then another hour or so to get your pizza. But I assure you, it's worth it.

I thought the same thing until my brother-in-law talked me into trying it. OMG, I needed a cigarette afterwards, and I don't smoke! ;)
When my daughter was as QU, we'd make a trip. Tried Sally's one time, meh.

Hey, does us MC fans a favor, and take care of ME this weekend.

doesn't it appear that our teams aren't exactly road warriors anymore. they struggle at PC, they struggle at UVM, they struggle at maine, they struggle at UNH. is this the nba or what?? i guess i shouldnt be surprised because the recent teams rarely had any wowing regular seasons - so the losses must come somewhere.

i guess thank god we own agganis!
