What non-seniors do you guys expect to lose after the season? I know Muse, Brian Gibbons and Joe Whitney to graduation but besides that which guys are threats to leave? I am guessing C Atkinson and Kreider could go i cant think of anyone else off the top of my head though.

Well here are BC's recruits for next year. I was curious since we may lose a lot.

Don't like seeing 2 goalies. Would be ****ed if Venti got tossed aside in his senior year the way Kremer did.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

I have to imagine that's exactly what will happen with Venti. No way will they carry 4 goalies.

I'm a little surprised people are selling Wey short here in regards to who might go pro. No one mentions him. He's a WJC guy, played well there, better than I expected. Played well in the rookie camp in the summer for the Caps. And is playing very good hockey right now. I have no idea what he is looking for out of BC as far as education goes. Is he looking for 4 years? Or 3 while doing a lot of summer classes to graduate in 3 plus the summer after his junior year? Does he care at all and he might just leave now? All I know is that he's playing very good hockey right now while being in Dumoulin's shadow and even Cross' shadow since Cross has emerged out of his last injury to start playing some terrific hockey as well. Pro ready? Probably not but he's getting there and it wouldn't shock me to see Wey go.

could be that he is exactly that, a caps draft pick. both the caps and the their affiliate, hershey are solid clubs (caps, 2nd in the east, bears 2nd in their division)

might be a bit of a logjam and he is simply being cautious in his decision...

Wey's play (heh heh rhyme!) has really taken off post-WJC. I've been extremely impressed.

I don't know if it's selling him short it's just we've only seen this level of play from him for 2 months.

Ya, was thinking that. Or perhaps Barrone doesn't join the team till he's a sophomore. Wasn't part of him coming to BC because his mom/dad works there?

Stolen from PH who stole it from the BC media guide but:

"Boston College is the youngest team among the 49 teams in Division I college hockey reporting birthdates with an average age of 20 years, 297 days as of New Year’s Day 2011."

Edit: I know they were the youngest team last year as well.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

I know some don't have birthdates in their publicly available materials so the "reporting birthdates" may be a qualification.

Nice balanced scoring tonight from all three top lines and you gotta love how Barry Almeida is playing. The kid finally gets off the 4th line and lo and behold he starts scoring goals like we all thought he would when he showed up 3 years ago - go figure...

For those at the game, was wondering if the 4th line got much ice time? Also, any updates on TAtkinson's condition?

Kenny, the "C" game was brought to Kelly Rink tonight:)...................but did anyone else think that this was Kevin Hayes best game so far?

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

They need to include the quarters games in the season ticket package -if we don't make it give a refund. Getting tickets for these games is a huge cluster****. Half of the season ticket holders don't get emails for some reason & they only have 1 window in the preceding weeks to buy tickets so there's no lie a 30+ minute wait to buy tickets.

Anywho, very hohum win for BC. Lacked energy for a while, Carey moved up to the #2 line to fill in for Kreider. Jimmy Hayes makes such a living in the high slot, absurd -first goal was an laser. Gibbons also had a great SHG beating Dainton near side on a breakaway, roofed teh **** out of it. High energy play. The PK got BC going, not only are we a top 5 team killing penalties, we also lead the country in SHG -a huge threat to teams. We simply pressure the puck so much most teams can't handle it

The 4th line was Kevin Hayes (who played very well), Brown & Dyroff.

If that is the case they will likely carry 4 goalies, while just dressing 3. Since they are still only using 3 scholly on the goalies.

Agree on Kevin Hayes. He looked like he was making a case for Jerry to put him back together with his brother and Pat.

Disagree on the "C" game. Sure was a sluggish start, but they picked it up after that. Wasn't their "A" game, but wasn't their "C" game. Leads me to believe it ended up being their "B" game. ;)

So what happens if and when Kreider returns? Assuming he goes back to the 2nd line, do you put Carey on the 4th line with KHayes and Brown or do you put him on the 3rd line and bump one of those guys (SWhitney, Almeida & Arnold) to the 4th line?

Very good performance from BC tonight. Bad first 10 minutes. The Hayes goal woke up BC. They were fortunate not to be playing from behind early on. After that BC just whomped on UMass for 50 minutes. Gibbons and crew were breaking in on shorthanded 2 on 1s like it was going out of style. His SHG was beautiful and he shanked another one in the 2nd period as well.

4 goals in 5 games for Almeida I believe.

What a lame crowd (2868). My sweet Jesus.

Good win for you guys, 7 more to go, I imagine..

I'd be surprised if we had more than 2500 at the whittemorgue tonight (haven't seen the official attendance, but it was equally awful in there tonight. I know its become the norm for attendance league-wide in the quarters, but has it always been this bad? :(

Speaking of Almeida. He was probably the best player on the ice tonight. Kid could do whatever he wanted with the puck out there, it was like it was glued to his stick or something.

About the crowd, I was shocked it was so small too. Crowds have been fantastic all year so when I walked in and saw how small it was it was strange.

Almeida might be proving me wrong. He'll definitely have an extended chance next season. Maybe he'll have a poor man's Chris Collins like season ;)

He looked solid out there. And really, it's very difficult to judge him because of the knee injury and the fact that he's getting 4th line minutes and playing with true 4th line talent.

What time did you get there? Didn't take me more than a minute to get mine around 6:40-6:45. I thought season ticket holders do have an option to purchase QF tickets? Not sure why this changed, but they used to have some old woman selling tickets in a booth a few years back...

Carey is too good, too complete a player to be put on the 4th line. He's not scoring like he was, but maybe he has a hot streak left in him for the stretch run. I think Arnold would be bumped.

Muse made a couple big saves right before the Hayes goal--thought Muse was very sharp tonight. Nothing was more lame than the dumbass UMass students (I assume) in section BB. Couldn't believe their stupidity. While not all together, UMass had a decent showing of fans again IMO. I'm hoping for 4,000+ for a Saturday night tilt, but who knows.
