Did you get this from a newspaper article? Or did you write this up? Appears to me that this is someone's work that was not quote or citied.

Reports were that he was though exausted as he fell down 35+ times, per period

Yay for unfunny exaggeration and poor English.

He was an elite skater the day he walked into BC

A shame he couldn't show this on the ice.

just answering the same 40 posts by jd and others who wrote the same thing 40 times

Hokydad, you're competing with yourself now. I'm done with this. I've said all I needed to on the matter. Now please tell us again what Lyles' junior coach thinks of him...

He did, not his fault if you dont understand what an elite skater is. ask any of the bc coaches if they thought he was a good skater or not

LOL

Last time I checked, there was a difference between good and elite. I never said he wasn't a good skater. If you actually saw him play at BC, he did not show elite skating skills. I don't see what the big issue is here.

Just move on to something else...or tell us again how much interest he got from top D1 teams.

Hoky, Apollo Ohno is an elite skater. I dont think he'd do very well at hockey either. If Lyles was a can't miss stud coming out of Florida, he would have gotten more scholarship money. He'll do well at Lowell. Regarding the point you made on the reputation point thing, I agree with you, but I dont think a lot of people feel either Whitney has a long term future playing pro hockey either.

I believe the Hockey East regular season record for team goals (conference games only) is held by BC's 86 team with 203. I can see them breaking that this year.

I suggests BC's scoring prowess and how close they are to reaching that 203 mark in conference play. They only need to average a mere 16.51 gpg from here on out and the record falls.

thought you were moving on last post...

It isnta big issue but he is in fact an elite skater, one of the top ones in the league. When he was at natl festival, they had him listed as the top skater in the country at his age.

I'm certainly trying to. What league? And for the 100th time, my commentary was limited to what he showed in games at BC. How many freakin' times do I have to say that?

Yeah... Slasher's actually growing on me a bit (shhhh don't tell anyone) , but that was a beauty. Almost as good as UMLGoon quipping Lowell could be 40-0 last season.

If I rooted for Vermont, I'd direct my deflect any comments away from my team, too. :) Enjoy!

Nice article/interview with Jerry York by Bob Van Wert at Eagle Action.

My favorite quote:
In conclusion, York said "For the most part we have had a pretty solid, pretty impressive year. But, now is when we have to make our mark as a team."
Link

Trophy season starts Monday. If this team plays to their capability, they should come away with a Beanpot trophy on Feb. 14. Hope to see them firing on all cylinders beginning this Friday and Monday.

Go Eagles!

You say 16.51 GPG like it is impossible or something?

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

Good 5-0 win tonight.

My one and only comment about the game was Cross laid a MONSTER hit tonight and the refs made a terrible call to throw him out (not shocked in the least bit seeing as Benedetto was the ref).

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

A couple things on that hit...

1) I didn't see any head contact. Looked like he got him in the chest with a legal hit.
2) Neither ref put their arm in the air at ANY point. It's getting to the point now in college hockey where even if someone lays a clean check, if the other person is the least bit shaken up, the refs have to get together and come up with a call.
3) After all that, I was expecting maybe a two minute penalty for charging...five minutes and a game? ***? In the first period no less of a scoreless game. With another BC penalty on the same play, that type of decision could have had a major impact on the game. I just don't understand what these refs see sometimes.

Nice to see Samuelsson pot a couple. Now has a 3-8-11 line in 25 games. Last year, in 42 games, he had a 1-13-14 line. If you project out over 42 games, he's on pace for 5-13-18. Not bad at all for someone we were told incessantly had no offensive game :p

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

even for fashionably late BC fans, this one set the standard.:( the place was nearly empty at the start ,as usual, but then midway through the first the flood gates opened:D..........unbelievable turnout by the students , AGAIN! . my post hoping for 7K at Conte was lost in the USCHO meltdown last night but attendance was 6821, another great crowd. I thought they played an ok first 40 minutes then were just flying around in the 3rd. S Whitney was skating like he was on fire all night. I think also that Jerry still hasn't stepped on the pedal as yet but he's thinking about it;)

p.s. congrats to the future Mr. & Mrs. TTT20!

I was very impressed last night... we were buzzing around consistently like I haven't seen yet this season. And dipping shoulders and going to the net with the puck (even Kreider did this once :p ). Lots of rushes on net and lots of crashing the net. This team is ramping it up right now and if we play like this on Monday, I don't see BU being able to keep up. Millan standing on his head will be their only hope.

Congratulations TonyTheTiger! Did you propose at the game?
