Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

comosedicefanboy, why don't you tell us again how frozen pucks bounce more than pucks at room temperature. Cause that was brilliant. And that there was no need to put them in a freezer at fenway. At least that part was correct. I'm just happy you know what a puck is.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

Wow, Maine jokes about gun racks and only having one tooth. I've never heard those before. Brilliant. You could write for Leno.

C'mon Como....phunny chit here. Those collar up fellas are such a hoot..eh? Us Mainuhs luv em, we need em and cant live without em. Just go withit. :)

Sadly, it appears da Bearz will be sending their JV team to skool the Igles on friday....including, but not limited to, the most luved road goalie sieve in the world in Wilson (never to have won a road game) , or maybe the unknown, untested and perhaps ineligible goalie in Sirman. Heres to hoping the punchless Beagles can put more than 1 past, what really should be described as, a minor obstruction standing in front of the goal mouth.

I am unsure whether Hobey Nyquist will be making the long trip down to Boston this weekend given his choirboy looks. However, should he show, I would think autographs for all you yellow-shirited, inebriated supahfanz are a sure thing.

In any event, here's to Jesuit weekend with PC/BC this weekened. Maine fans, dont forget, keep ur kids from bending over in any BC section. You just never know. btw, superb piece of work against your cough, cough, archrival Jackie's derrieres last weekend ;)

I'd be happy demonstrate the physics of a hockey puck for you on a rink, or do you not actually play hockey - just yammer on about it on the internets.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

Some line changes tonight.
The Price line remains intact, but here's the others...

J. Whitney/Gibbons/C. Atkinson
Kreider/Smith/Hayes
Carey/Mullane/S. Whitney

Gibbons line was dominant out there and put up 3 goals. The other lines look like they need some time to gel. Personally, I'd switch Kreider and Carey. I think a Carey/Smith/Hayes line could be quite good. The D was solid.

I doubt it will happen, but I'd like to see Milner get another start Friday night. I like his presence/quickness in net. Would like to see him against a good Maine team, or BU next week.

Hard to tell how good we were tonight, as PC was quite bad. I remember just a few years back when PC teams would come into Conte and fly up and down the ice. You earned any win you got against PC. This team... maybe it's the long holiday layoff, but I saw a big, very, very slow PC team on the ice tonight. Hardly D-1 caliber. I hope it's just the layoff and not that they are always this bad.
One, count 'em, ONE shot on goal in the first period. Gawdam.

Yeah, Milner looked really good against PC. I watched him carefully - moves very well & very quick return to position after leaving skates. This kid can hold his own. VERY good D I thought as well. Continue to love what I see from Samuelson in particular - has great awareness, and always shuts 'em down when they're in his area. Glad to see Shea has seemed to find himself out there, too - looked very hesitant most times last season. Overall, Wey, Samuelson, and Dumoulin have filled in VERY nicely for the departs of '09. I think these freshmen stepping right in - right away - has been a huge part of BC's success thus far. Plus Atkinson really coming into his own along with the extra offensive threat Steven Whitney has brought from day 1 and you have some nice extras thrown into a team that has clearly improved itself from '09.
Still waiting for Hayes to emerge as the force I think he can be, and being patient with Kreider's progress & adjustment in NCAA hockey. When he arrives - WOW, LOOK OUT! Already BC is a team to be reckoned with. Really want a win against Maine Friday. Would be a good one to build on.

Lighten up Francis. Nick came up with some funny stuff there and if we can laugh with him, why can't you.

I am pretty sure most of us understand how the pucks are handled and stored for use in a game.

That was the best game of the year so far.

Other than maybe the power play, every aspect of the game was outstanding for BC tonight.

Gibbons was a one-man wrecking ball. He is probably the best forechecker in the league.

They were hammering Nyquist early and often, as I predicted. I don't think he went a single shift without getting decked. We took a few penalties because of it, but it was completely worth it.

The Atkinson-Gibbons-Whitney line is a keeper. Wow, do they overwhelm opponents or what?

The defense made a few really nice plays riding Mainahs off the puck several times on breakaways.

Muse made a bunch of great saves.

Also - Maine fans are awesome. Definitely some of the best in HE. Present in big numbers for a one-off game three hours away - and loud to the end. When they scored to make it 5-1 you'd think they'd just tied it up. Great fans.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

A big BC win and BU moving another step closer to not even making the HE playoffs, never mind the NCAAs.

Thanks for the compliment haha. Shutting down Nyquist is definitely the key, especially with a depleted squad. Solid game tonight from the Eagles. As good as you guys are, I think your team is still underrated. While you may be young, especially defensively, there is a ton of talent on that club. Good things to come in the future for sure. Good luck the rest of the way...hope to see if we can get a couple back in the playoffs.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

That's how to play 60 minutes of hockey.
Good job Eagles.

I hear Cross may have injured his knee which may sit him down for a while. That's a bummer if true. The kid has been through the mill with his knees. Anyone have any updated news?

If that's the case, we'll have to suck it up a bit with 2 D men down. This team is capable of getting it done... they play some good team D.

BC is easily the best team in HE but why do you care about BU they certainly arent a threat to anyone this year. Root hard for your team but dont root against another team, thats a losers mentality. Revel in your own success not the misfortunes of others, thats what keeps good karma. I will take the suspense out for you, BU will not make HE playoffs. They are underskilled, unmotivated, poorly coached with a weak goalie, prob. one of the worst 5 teams in D1 hockey, no exaggeration.

Did you even bother to watch "Battle of Comm. Ave."?

I'm not sure if you heard, but these two schools don't exactly invite each other down the street for tea and crumpets. Similarly, I will not be sending my butler down to your cardboard box to invite you to my chateau in the south of France anytime soon, either.

On that note, do you know what an apostrophe is?
