Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

BC completely DOMINATED this game.
Clarkson dominated Muse upstairs (all but one were softies), and one wrap around that was very, very soft. That's it in a nut shell.

I was crossing my fingers the last two minutes. Give Clarkson credit for making it close at the end.

Great game to watch though. This team gets better with each game. Could have put up 9 goals tonight with a little puck luck. Almeida missed on 2 clean breakaways. If we get some consistent goaltending, the sky is the limit.

Anyone else see that first BC goal. I thought it was Hayes goal. Looked like the puck changed direction twice... Whitney to Atkinson (deflect) to Hayes (deflect). Maybe I was seeing things.

Exactly how I heard the game went....shoulda, woulda, coulda been 8-1, but Muse let in some very questionable goals. All that said, you have to like that there were 12 different players on the scoresheet. Great scoring balance throughout the line-up. (10 of 12 forwards had a point)

The goaltending is concerning. I say give Milner some more time and create some competition. Muse is too comfortable and doesn't seem to be progressing.

And all of you not satisfied, that is a solid start for a very young team. They are maturing every game. If Muse makes a couple of those saves, no one is talking about "ugly" anything.

Things are better than expected and getting better....

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

interesting stat:

bc scoring by period ( vs for opponents)
14-14-14 vs 11-10-13

would have sworn they would be negative in the third, but it is still their worst differential. nice that the scoring is even between all periods.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

Well, just got back from my visit to your arena, must say it is beautiful, crowd was was very freindly and amicable to this visitor.
BC definitely dominated the game, stupid penalties and 2 (what I would consider) questionable calls dug ourselves a hole and never let us build any momentum in the first 2 periods.
Your PP was really something to watch 5-4, let alone 5-3, tons of movement, lots of back door chances, best I have seen all year.
That being said, I do give my guys credit, they are young (3 seniors) and they did not quit being down 6-3 in the 3rd. Good luck going forward.
Cheers!
Drew

Glad you enjoyed your visit. You're guys certainly didn't make it easy. I was beginning to feel fairly comfortable with 8 minutes left and a 3 goal lead. Shows ya' what I know. Did you make it to Roggies? My wife and I had a late lunch/early dinner before the game and there were several Clarkson fans there. Good luck the rest of the way yourself.

I thought the BC goal at the end of the 2nd would break Clarkson's back, not to mention the 1st goal of the 3rd. I said to my friend in the third period... "This Clarkson team isn't quitting". A great sign for a young team. It will pay dividends for you as the season progresses.

Glad you had a nice trip. Good luck to the Golden Knights the rest of the way.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

Anyone else going to zoomass Friday?

I'm trying to talk my wife into it. We went last year and had a blast. I called my son at BC and got the phone # of a kid we know at Umass who I figured would be at the game. I heckled him by text message all night. He had no idea who it was. I was stunned at the ignorance of the Umass fans. It was like a bunch of parents at a Mite 3 game.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

how long is the drive to Amherst?

If you're coming from Boston, make sure you allow time for traffic. I plan on leaving around 3:00 or so. I'll probably get there around 5:00 and have some time to kill, but in my opinion it beats the alternative. I once left Boston for a 7:30 game at 4:00 and got there just in time for face off.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2009-2010

I don't suppose anyone has three tickets to the bu game available for face value...

EDIT: Nevermind. All set!

As a very brief primer for newbie Seagull fans:

DON'T sit in the student section. (seems obvious, but you'd be surprised.)

DO buy a reserved ticket from the Conte or Mullins BO. (only $3 more than GA.) Just be warned that they plan on selling this game out as their "Operation 8k" promotion.

DO sit in a cushy seat.

IF you have a problem, find an usher. If the usher won't/can't help, find a cop. Seriously, there's no reason to be fearing for your life, TTT20.

Lastly, DO enjoy the game. That's what it's all about, right?
