Thanks.. the BC-UVM game is the only D-I game today so that must be it. Appreciate the info.

Well that sucked. I watched on ESPNU and I think they played OK, they had a few good opportunities and the opposing goalie played well. The passing wasn't too sharp and they looked like they had some work to do to gel, as expected. Muse was mediocre at best, I thought he should have had the 2nd and 3rd goals which were weak 5-hole.

The PP was as bad (or worse) as it was last season (I think they went 0-7). They would've been in the game if they had scored on one or two of those opportunities.

Jerry needs to utilize Parker Milner in some of these early season games to see if he can backup Muse. He cannot let Muse play every game. I don't think Muse is 100% healthy yet, IMO.

Just got done seeing the game on dvr recording.
The team looks like we'll be fine going forward. Like Zudnic said, need to gel a bit. Created some great chances early, then the VT defense hunkered down.
Two glaring weaknesses...
1. This team does not hit. Maybe 2-3 checks all night.
2. Have to get more shots on net. We lead the world in power play passing.
Madore was coughing up some juicy rebounds in the first... put the puck on net and crash.
Vermont is a very good team. They're going to be a tough out all season.

Hey...everybuddies powerless play sucks this time of the season....they all look like slow motion passing drills. Didnt get to see Dumoulin much on tv...how'd he handle himself ? I tellya one thing, Vermont has got to be one of the most boriing teams to watch on tv that I can imagine.....zzzzZZZZzzzzzz. You guyz'll be fine...agree, Muse should not be getting much playing time ....I cant imagine he is even close to full strength.

one of the most boring teams? Dude, are you on drugs? 2 out of those 4 UVM goals were FILTHY, and the individual effort by McCarthy was great.

The UVM players that participted in the elephant walk have graduated or moved on.

The ones that kicked BC's butts last night have never been found to have so acted.

But those references never fail to crack me up! And they're even funnier when they come from the fans of a team that lost to Vermont.

On one hand - Jerry York is going to have the BC team that got its' collective butts kicked last night fighting for titles in a few months, on the other hand - yeah, well the elephant walk.

BC fans are reacting well to a 4-1 HE opening loss.

Do another elephant walk joke. Please!

Gotta admit, it's kinda interesting around here to have an upstart program with some chest thumping fans, even if they are idiots. :p

Upstart? You do realize UVM had a hockey team before they joined HE right? And their fans have always been loyal and "chest thumping"? :confused: And while certainly some fans are "idiots" probably no more and no less then BC fans. :eek:

OK... so VT has been beating up on the likes of UND, Mich, Minny, Wisco, Denver, BU, BC, UNH, among others, for like a kazillion years. If that weren't the case, one might consider the program's recent success as 'upstart'.

The mid to late 90s the program was doing quite well (including against HE) until the hazing scandal hit and half a season was canceled and the program was put on suspension. That pretty much kills your recruiting for 3-4 years and took about 5-6 years to recover from. Then the move to HE combined with the end of the hazing scandal overhang and the program is back where it should be competing with the likes of UNH, ME from a similar state school perspective and with BC and BU etc.
