Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

I saw the BC at UMass game on Saturday is on TV. Some station called CBS-3. Any one if this is available on Directv? Thanks.

Think this happened last year. I believe it's just a local station out in Western Mass/Amherst.

its listed on my Comcast cable guide (which is always subject to change) on WBIN channel 18 here in Southern New Hampshire (doesn't appear to be on any HD channel)

just checked comcast in my area and WBIN is listed as channel 811

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

At least they are upfront about it.

Obstructed views at Fenway? Well I never!!

I think it's great for the players to be able to say they played a hockey game at Fenway Park. I see no other redeeming reason why fans would pay that much money to view a hockey game from so far away and possibly be sitting in 10 degree weather. Sounds like fun to me.:D

So CBS-3 is WBIN channel 18?:

* Some restrictions apply. Not all programming is available in all areas. Digital capable equipment is required to receive Digital TV channels. Additional equipment fees may apply.

Guess I'll check to see if I get this channel.

no, WBIN is separate from CBS-3, I assume CBS-3 is the western mass' CBS affiliate that happens to have a few UMass games. Somehow, WBIN is picking up the feed, I guess? WBIN is picking up a few UNH games, though I heard the audio is just the radio feed. I hope the camera work is professional, and not the internet feed video, but its good to see a few more games on TV.

Yup, it sure is, and its listed there too... I did a search for college hockey and only the one on channel 18 showed up, weird!

Ha!

Seriously though. I would put Dumoulin ahead of Harrold. He is better at both ends of the ice and made a far deeper impact as a freshman (and sophomore). By the end, Harrold was good, but still not in Dumoulin's league IMO.

Also, you're criminally underrating Orpik.

The toughest calls for me are Scuderi and Allen. Both were overshadowed for a long time by Mottau for 3 years. I always said Dumoulin reminded me of Allen. Scuderi had much lower offensive abilities but was so stinking good defensively it's tough to really place him with other guys that were offensive threats.

Top 6 since I've been around:
Mottau
Dumoulin
Allen
Scuderi/Orpik tied
Harrold

Sorry, I know I am a little late on this but, on behalf of us old guys, props must be given to Greg Brown. As good a D-man as I have seen in college hockey. IIRC, he was logging about 35 minutes a game.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

the rest of the email concerning ticket refunds and purchase for fenway game

Because of the change in venue, your season ticket for that game will no longer
be valid. You will need a new ticket for that game (includes admission for both
games). In an effort to make the transition as easy as possible, BC will be
refunding the cost of your season ticket and providing you with a special link
and private window of opportunity to purchase tickets through the Red Sox.

The presale will be on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at noon. You will be receiving an email
the day before the presale with all the information you will need.

Please Note: The best tickets will go fast. You will be a part of the exclusive
first presale. So, please act fast to make sure you get the best tickets to the
game.

If you have any questions please call the ticket office at 617-552-GoBC.

That's good, I'd rather get a refund than sit in the cold for a venue not made for hockey. I'll watch on TV if they broadcast it or maybe use the NU stream if it's free.

i would have to think that some arrangement could be worked out that NESN could do it? they aren't listed on HockeyEastonline as televising a game that night anyway...........funny too that speaking of WBIN they are all over the HE schedule with feeds in some manner

Bruins are at Carolina that night so NESN won't be showing it live.

I agree, Greg Brown was slightly overshadowed by Leetch, but an incredible college hockey player. Best pure skater on the ice many nights. Don't think he's not an important cog in the wheel. His natural skating ability, coupled with his ability to teach, allows him to be an effective coach from a player development perspective. The game today is to be skilled at a high level of speed, that was Brownie.

Great shout out; from the enemy nonetheless.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

I had great seats last time in Section 30 and I am pumped to be able to see them play at Fenway again.

For those of you angry about that, that is fine with me. Leaves more of the good seats for those of us who are excited by it.

Re: Boston College Eagles 2011-2012 season thread

BC hockey is good but their fans suck!!!

Chew on that losers! :)
