Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

The US News rankings are a bit more realistic (and for God's sake don't start defending BC's honor, I know it's an elite school). Also, Saponari is a BC reject, not Cody, Cody left on his own.

..Forbes also had Framingham ranked as the 3rd 'geekiest' community in the U.S...
Boston was ranked #15th..
take it for what its worth :)

yeah, i take any poll that ranks Harvard as the 6th best school in the country with a grain of salt:confused::confused: and also, i think that INCH has it right with where they have BC ranked preseason and i like them in that spot

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Haven't seen anything on Teifenwerth not coming, but did see he was named to some EJHL All-Star team.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

I can see BC being slow out of the gate, but I think some of their less productive players who were really playing in the shadows last year, like SWhitney, Arnold, KHayes, Almeida, etc, who were all big-time recruits are going to really blossom. The Defense looks solid and am guessing one of the two goalies will be able to carry the load. We also have some pretty good recruits that should be contributing by the 2nd half of the season.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

i wouldn't consider Brian Gibbons, Joe Whitney and Jimmy Hayes (who they failed to mention until the end of the article) as role players..............
but the ranking while maybe a bit low is not that far off, IMO

"Jerry York has done more with less, so it wouldn’t shock me at all if BC ends up Hockey East champions again, but for now I have questions about them replacing Atkinson and Jimmy Hayes, as well as their situation in net."

they mentioned JH

What would lead anyone to objectively think Maine would be the 10 best team in the country, let alone better than BC (or anyone else in Hockey East not named Providence, Lowell or UMass)?

has anyone seen/mentioned this?

in case you needed some early week comedy

Don't think it's that bad. I'd say he underrates Cross/Wey and overstates the loss of Samuelsson. Also, I don't think anyone expects Barone to compete for the job. Doesn't matter to me if BC is ranked 15th to start the year. By the end of the year, I think they'll be back at the Garden and in the NCAA tournament.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

I'm less shocked at his ranking BC 16th than I am with him ranking Maine 10th. I've always liked Maine a lot more than BC, but that's just silly. Maine will be lucky to finish in the top half of HE.

check out your post 9 up ,yesterday at 4:42 PM with my quote in it................."(who they failed to mention until the end of the article)" yes, i did edit it but before you responded but what ever , the point was that he said the three were "good role players" and they were much more than that

He never said Hayes was a good role player... You could guess that but based upon how the article ends, he clearly considered him more than that.

He Said, "lesser known role players"

yes, and i dont mean to get in a ****ing contest but here is his quote"They lose their best player, Cam Atkinson, a two time national champion goalie, and a host of lesser known but very good role players." . Now, the players they lost besides Cam and Muse were Whitney, Hayes, Gibbons and Samuelsson and the way he praised Samuelsson ,who exactly does he mean by "host of lesser known but very good role players" ? since the other 3 mentioned are NOT "lesser known but very good role players" and no one else left................. suffice to say the writer did not do a very good job writing his piece
