Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Surprised that BU is ranked so high? I am surprised they were not ranked higher. They could be lights out this year, loaded.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

I'm surprised by these rankings, as INCH usually has a good idea of what's going on. Obviously, it begins and ends with goaltending, but if Milner can keep it together, watch out. Hopefully these rankings will be posted on teh locker room door for the players to see as they take the ice.

INCH definitely knows what is going on. They view BC as a 10-15 team this year and IMO that is right on. You may see BC pop in and out of the top 10 but in my view they are right outside of that in the 11-13 range. Probably will be in the NCAA field and could be top 8 if things break right and some guys step up.

I think their comments about Schwartz and CC in their Hobey and Top 10 previews for this upcoming season are worth reading twice. That kid dominated when he was in the lineup and that team obliterated the living p!ss out of BC last year in the NCAAs. Yet, they always choke before the title like UNH does. Still a team to watch IMO. If anything, their one consistent issue is that they always pump up the ECAC teams far more than they should but we all know they are worthless squads when it's time to pay the piper in the tournament.

USHL ROY, offensive dynamo. RT @ryan_s_clark In case you missed it, sources have said it appears John Gaudreau will choose Boston College.

Love the late recruit addition, looks like another Gerbe/Gionta style player. Perfect fit.

My only question is does this mean someone else is getting kicked to the curb or being asked to come in a year late?

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Wasn't he a Northeastern recruit for 2012 before?

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

Was this a package deal? Is the brother also heading to BC in 2012?

USHR: Gaudreau Boys Have Their New Home

Scratch Tiefenwerth, who committed to BC four years ago this month, from the roster.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

When was the last time #82 had a hockey team? By the way, notice how BC is ranked above some of the Ivies? It's not even close for some of them.

The US News rankings are a bit more realistic (and for God's sake don't start defending BC's honor, I know it's an elite school). Also, Saponari is a BC reject, not Cody, Cody left on his own.

Re: Boston College 2011-2012 season outlook

I'm not very well versed in the competition, but with all the graduations and defections, it's not nuts to leave BC out of the top 10.
