Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Gotta love how Kevin Hayes is playing, at this rate, I can't imagine that he doesn't score at least 15-20 goals. In regard to the 3rd/4th line's lack of scoring, does anyone that has been to the games have any insight as to whether or not they are even getting any pressure on the opposing goalies or is it pretty much a lost cause that any of these guys can develop into scorers?

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

On the surface, it at least appears linell is capable...

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

You'd have to think that Silk too is capable of putting some points up, especially since he played for the NTDP the past 2 years. Granted he had that achilles injury, but the kid was supposed to be a pretty darn good player.

Both the 3rd and 4th line had some opportunities last night. 3rd line is getting better each game. Very good defensively if you notice York uses them all on the pk. Linell is clearly the standout as he plays on both the pk and pp. He had a nice shot on the pp last night that went off the goalie's glove to JG who knocked the rebound in for a goal. I am sure we will see him on the top 2 lines before the season is out. He should have more points than he does just needs someone to play with.

As long as the injury bug doesn't hit us, we should be fine during the RS and even the HE Tourney. However, once the NCAA's roll around, I think we could potentially be at a disadvantage vs some of the deeper teams such as MN & Nodak.

I'm not really sure nodak has depth. Certainly not that minn has

So #2, #3, #4, #5, #7, #8, and #9 picked up a loss this weekend. #6 picked up a tie.

Anyone else want to complain about gutting out early season conference wins?

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Not me. I only criticize wins late in the season when I think they need to play better in order to be where they wanna be. At this point in the season, I'll take wins any way they come.

yup, and 5 out of 6 in conference to start the season, not shabby. big one sunday, need to take it going into next weekend's 2 biggies

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

BC gutted out a win and again UMass could not hold on the lead. Nice to see other players step up when the top players don't always score goals.

Nice to see Brown add the game winner and on to the Irish and BU next weekend. Plenty of tickets at Conte for Sunday's matchup at HAA. I bought mine for 28.00 with no fees.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

A win is a win, but I think UMass deserved better. Bottom line, take the points and run. Nice to see the GWG come from the 4th line.

Milner made some huge saves and the team came alive midway thru the 3rd. Lucky to get the full two points.

Silk is a pretty good skater and can play physical. I think he can develop into a pretty good player over four years. Maybe a Kucharski type.

Notre Dame is their typical self under Jeff Jackson. I expect a tight checking defensive battle. BC scored 4 in the national title game against ND, but they haven't scored 4 against them in a regular season game since 2001 (they haven't played every year, but just about).

BTW, the BC ticket office has an envelope full of tickets for Sunday's game. I think section 104 and 105 are designated for BC fans. Let's buy them out and there should be no tickets returned to BU. :) I bought mine for 26.00 and 2.00 fee tacked on. I'll probably see some of my BU friends there.

I travel to road games and I go to BU games at Agganis not featuring BC, but I steer clear of BC-BU games at Agganis. Just my own personal preference. BC has done fairly well there (I believe a winnnig record), so why change it up now? ;)

He looks like he's trying to score. In fact, he probably could have done a better job than the UMass forwards.

One note on Kevin Hayes...he really is emerging. I have enough confidence in him now where I think something good is going to happen every time the puck is on his stick. He's becoming very, very good at leading the rush up the ice.

very interesting, seems like i could have written that. Since i let my passion for BC hockey become an obsession over 6 years ago i've been to about 140-150 games and not one of them at Agganis, not that i dont want to go there, i do............i just dont know why i haven't but we win there a lot and i'm not there so, i keep status quo:cool:..........and BC has a great record there. I think BU has a winning record in Conte since i've been a season ticket holder

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

I know I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but Coach York is five from tying and six from breaking Ron Mason's win record. Does anyone else see the weekend series that is five and six games away...???
