Always wondered about something like this...did the team head up to maine tonight or do they just make the long trip tomorrow?

I'm sure they left today. Maine always heads down the day before. You wouldn't have much for legs after a four hour bus ride.

According to the team's twitter feed they left yesterday afternoon

They used to go up a day early and skate at Bowdoin on the way up. Mike Cavanaugh, being an alum, still has close ties with Coach Terry Meagher (even if he is a BU guy). Not sure if that's what they did this year, but it was their routine for a couple years.

so i bought the feed from Maine's web site and it's 1-1 late in the second but the scoreboard here on BUSCHO showed 2-2 after 2. Kept watching and BC scored then Maine answered less than a minute later, so BUSCHO had the info 5-10 minutes earlier than what i am watching?

Nice win in a tough place to win regardless of whether Maine is having an up or down season.

....but the big story of the night is that the 3rd line actually got a point, with Linell getting an assist on the GWG!

So 3 straight Friday road wins in games they really should have lost. I guess I'll take it but I'd hate to see their fortunes change when the games get bigger.

Just think how good this team would be with Kreider and Dumoulin, and Vatrano for that matter...

Obviously doesn't apply to Kreider because of last spring but wonder what some of these kids who left early are thinking with this lockout.

On the other hand though, they aren't playing their best hockey at all and they're still coming away with wins. They will have stretches of lights-out hockey, and getting these tough wins are going to be huge come later in the season.

should be able to take care of umass. 6-1 heading into a huge weekend against ND and BU would look real nice.

granted it was 2-2 in the third but while watching the delayed feed:cool: i didnt feel that they were going to lose or should have lost this one. Could it have gone ether way? absolutely. Always nice to get one in Orono, no matter Maine's plight

BC absolutely 'owes something' to Notre Dame. The Irish often come up here and outplay us. With an expected football thrashing, we can't let their hockey team complete some sort of 'Catholic Sweep.'

In the end, losing to ND in hockey hasn't really had an impact on anything but it still is rather annoying. Hey, at least BC won the important meeting.

I look at it and say, they are learning what it takes to win close games in challenging environments. Also, more than half of the team has already succeeded on the biggest stage in the biggest games, so no worries to speak of there.

Will they lose close games throughout the season? Sure, but the losses won't hurt as bad because they are putting valuable league points up early.

We never know if these teams are championship teams until they earn the right to play in championship games, but so far they appear to be serious contenders.
