Hey, the NCHC is not a bad thing, a nice collection of great programs from the old WCHA, some ok programs from the CCHA, and then WMU and SCSU. And they've done better and better the last 3 years in the NCAA tourney. It is not the NCHC that I have doubts about, it's only SCSU.

And I am defending the B1G more than attacking the NCHC. At least one NCHC fan has called The B1G a joke of a conference, so I am just giving reasons why I disagree. Which includes explaining why B1G teams have struggled some the last decade.


I don't mean to single out SCSU, but they are simply the highest rated NCHC team right now, and the NCHC team that has come close to proving the LEAST in the NCAA tourney. So I had my doubts about them "come NCAA tourney time", but then their 2 ties vs #42 Princeton got me even more curious so I looked up their schedule and lo and behold, ZERO wins vs Top 5 teams, and a much easier schedule than the Gophers. I may not have to wait til the NCAA tourney for SCSU to prove that they are not the best team in the country? And I hope my Gophers prove it next weekend? Not saying they will, but I don't think its as slim of a possibility as most NCHC fans probably think it is.

No hatred whatsoever. Simply a lack of respect I guess. For most of my life I've actually cheered for SCSU, except when they played the Gophers. I'd MUCH rather see them win the NCHC than UND or Denver or CC or Miami. If it came down to UMD vs SCSU, I'd cheer for UMD simply because I went to UMD and so did my niece and nephew.

So no hatred whatsoever. Like I said, simply a lack of respect. When SCSU does something worthy of respect, then I'll happily give them respect. So far they haven't.

I actually used to think it would be cool to have an all-Minnesota teams Frozen Four. But that was very unrealistic before the creation of the B1G. Now look at this season, there is a chance for SCSU, Mankato, Minnesota and UMD to all make the tourney, and with some luck, they could end up in different regions.

But FACTS are simply that, they are FACTS and your thinking I am a moron for stating facts, doesn't change those facts of make them not true.


FACT?

SCSU has only played 5 games vs Top 10 ranked teams and has only won 2 of those 5 games.

SCSU could only muster 2 ties vs the #42 ranked team in the country.

I never proclaimed myself a genius. I said if my parents wouldn't have dropped me when I was a baby, then maybe I would have been a genius.

I simply stated THE FACT, that I was offered the opportunity to attend West Point and that I got A's in my upper level classes at college. I didn't take any upper level courses at UMD.

So yes, I attended UMD but I did not graduate from UMD. I joined the Army after attending UMD. And upon getting out of the Army, I chose to continue my education elsewhere.

Fact: The Huskies are #1 in the country in the ranking that chooses the tournament. The rest of your facts are smoke.
Even if we split with the Gophers...it really doesn't matter at this point because as you yourself have stated...titles and the tournament are what matters.

Well, NCHC fans have shown that they don't care about FACTS or reality, because they have their heads in the clouds after last season. Understandable. I don't blame any of you for desperately trying to hold on to the fantasy and for hating me for throwing facts out there that would drag a reasonable person back down to reality and their head out of the clouds.

So since you don't like the FACTS that I point out, out of weakness you try to shoot the messenger. If you can convince yourselves that I am a "moron", then you can go on believing your own hype. lol

What would give you hope?? I went to UMD long enough that they are my 2nd favorite men's hockey team. I grew up near enough to SCSU and had friends and a brother in law that went there, so I'd be ok with their doing well. And UND and DU have done enough throughout history that despite hating them, they've earned respect.

So all of that said, the only reason I have to cheer against the NCHC when they are not playing a B1G team, is to shut up NCHC fans who call the B1G a joke.

I understand why NCHC fans might not want the B1G to be good, they think it helps them, but it doesn't. The NCHC has the potential to be the best conference in mens college hockey, and not just for 2-3 years, but for decades. But what good will that do if college hockey slowly dies and gets shut down???

The B1G thriving and doing very well, and the NCHC still doing better than them, would be something to be proud of, and it would be good for college hockey. Or the B1G improving and outperforming the NCHC would also be a worthy accomplishment and something that would be good for college hockey.

Well, with a title like Big Ten > NCHC, I could believe that is who would have started the thread.

But I'm not an attention seeking child.

I don't have a problem with the NCHC, and it has been better than the B1G in hockey the past 2-3 seasons. Doesn't justify NCHC fans disrespecting the B1G.

It's very VERY likely most NCHC hockey fans are not aware of how much of an impact The B1G Conf of Universities has had on their lives or simply don't care is more likely.
