Re: Big Ten > NCHC

Did that need to be mentioned? That is pretty much all the U has to offer.

You're still cute and so is icehawk. SCSU has a great thing going right now of course he's not leaving today. But if Lucia retired at the end of the year and the Gophers wanted Motzko bad enough there's a far better chance than not that they would. Arguing otherwise is as short-sighted as it gets.

That said I don't think he'd be their first choice at all anyway so it's not going to happen.

Not as cute as you though SS. Your voice is gospel in these parts. At least you think it is ;)

Motzko may consider it...but i highly doubt he leaves.
This is his school, his program, his legacy. He has cart blanche here and always will. Money may talk but there is WAY more to it than just flashing cash.

According to the last news articles I saw, Motzko was making in the neighborhood of $225,000/year in total compensation. Lucia's salary is about $375,000/year, plus another $250,000/year towards some sort of retirement/deferred compensation account.

This all sounds so familiar to me....and yet...

When B1G money and recognition come calling...it's a hard offer to turn down.

There is no recognition. Your conference is a clown show. Notre Dame came into your league this year and is dominating. Meanwhile, the team that has won your piddly league every year of its existence has fans that want to can their coach. That's how big of a joke your league is. You have money and that's all you've got.

That doesn’t even include external endorsements and compensation.

Lol. I love it. The presupposition that all teams are as good as they always are. Minnesota and the rest of the Big Ten is as good as they were last year and Notre Dame didn’t improve from last year.

It’s possible he’d stay. I think he’s a long shot regardless.

SCSU is having an incredible run and there are definitely coaches who can appreciate that over cash. I just have yet to see one.

Notre Dame lost to Sacred Heart this year. Sacred Heart! But somehow, the dumpster-fire programs of the Little Six can't figure out how to beat them IN 10 TRIES.

Wisconsin lost to St. Lawrence AND THEY ARE THE ONLY TEAM IN DIVISION ONE HOCKEY TO DO SO! SLU is 1-14-1. They also lost to Mercyhurst, who is .500 in Atlantic Hockey. But guess who else lost to Mercyhurst? Penn State.

And guess who else Penn State lost to? American International.

The BTHC has losses against three of the worst teams in college hockey.

And St. Cloud State lost to CC a few years ago when SCSU was top four. What's your point? That you want to prove you have a tumor in the critical thinking portion of your brain?

ETA: You guys got swept by the USNDT that year on consecutive nights. Cripes.

Yeah, we sure sucked that year we went 31-9-1. But hey, we still swept the Gophers at Mariucci that year. So, B1G is still <<<<<< NCHC

Re: Big Ten > NCHC

The Goofs fans are the smartest kids in the room, but none of them can explain why, despite all the additional resources the B1G schools supposedly have over everyone else, they haven't had a team make the Frozen Four since 2014 and have been a one-bid conference for two of those three years.
