I really can't say that I was all that impressed with the crowd at the AUD for the UC/Oswego game. I think the attendence was announced as 1200 but that has to be including all the season ticket holders, which many were missing. There was probably only 800 or so. The figure that they draw 2700 can't be right. I have been to 5-6 Lakers games and each time the attendence was 2200+. The student section was rather vocal for the Brockport game. Unfortunately the Adrian game will be when school is out. I say show some video of the OZ CREW from Romney to inspire the student on how to support the team, but that will probably cause the lame college pres to pass out for it would not be very PC.

lol........i played on the 87' team and was good friends with the ZOO keeper or leader, many broken knuckles for him from opposing players hitting him with their sticks while in the sin bin.....also the taste great///less filling chant was a classic........they should bring that chant and the beer back..;-))

I traveled with the team for the 87 and 88 seasons. Off all the rinks I visited with the team, the ZOO Crew was the only student section that seemed to give the team an edge. The taste great/less filling chat won't go for the college president is to lame and PC

the attendence was 1546 or so for the Oswego/Utica game....come on a friday or saturday night.....we draw 3000+.

we drew over 3500 fans last night for the Castleton St game.

Considering your Cardinals aren't number one in the nation and had a goalie who's head was too full of hot air to return and support his team. Last I checked you guys were 6-1-1 in the SUNYAC and lost to Oswego on your own ice this season. Clearly the Stafford doesn't belong in this conversation. Talk smack when you beat the lakers and are number one in the nation. For now, warm your seat on the bench and enjoy the show.

Ohhhhh boy...this is going to start a nice rant on this thread now...


Even as a Laker fan, I find it comical that three months of recent history reserves the right to forget the past 3 or 4 years of history.

Completely agree. We got out butts handed to us since the Championship year, record-wise (clearly not in play on the ice though :p ) and as great of a start as this year has been, it doesn't make up for the pain of the previous 9 no decisions.

Three or four years? haha...try since these two teams ever started playing each other;)

Plattsburgh owns Oswego.

These new Laker fans need to study up on their Oswego hockey history.

We got our butts handed to us IN the championship year. Plattsburgh was 1-0-1 against us including a beat down at the CC. (yes the score was somewhat close..3 or 4-1 I think?)

But the Lakers were barely ever in that game. Plattsburgh dominated us in all facets of the game.

That's putting it slightly strongly. Plattsburgh has been the better team over the course of their histories, but making it seem like there's an 80+ year draught ala the red sox is a bit disingenuous.

Nevermind that it was a 2-1 game until a late 3rd period goal + an empty netter sealed it.

Stop being so overdramatic.

I'm not being overdramatic.

I was at the game and saw Plattsburgh completely take Oswego off their game. The score may have been close late but Oswego had no business even being in the game. They didn't show up and Plattsburgh dummied them.

But if you want to argue with me about how well each team played by glancing at a box score instead of actually being at the game. Please be my guest.

Hey, it's never stopped you from talking about teams or players you haven't seen. ;)

It doesn't honestly matter if shots are 50-10 if you're down 2-1. All you need is a goalie to sneeze at the wrong time and it's tied. 2-1 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd is hardly "barely ever in the game". Hence: you're being overdramatic.

When is the last time you saw the Lakers play? when they won the NC?

are we counting the yrs when they had illegal actions going on in the mid-late 80's, this is after all college not pro hockey, never know whats still going on .....do we...........

Or how Oswego pretty much pays their players to come play now with their financial aide packages...

And its also sad that 99.9% of the players on that roster that SMASHED your Tankers back then would have come to Plattsburgh anyways...guess your crow will taste good when the book comes out...get over it, you guys got tossed around by Plattsburgh that year and still wish you could have the championship...

Nah no biggies, you have to understand the newbies...heck if I finally won a game against our rival after losing ....whatever out of whatever....I'd be happy too, but heck everyone gets lucky sometime.....:rolleyes: But really besides only a handful of games it very easily could have been reversed in Oswego's favor. Those were some awesome games over that span...
