Bentley Falcons 2014-2015: If You Build It, They Will Come

Re: Bentley Falcons 2014-2015: If You Build It, They Will Come

Tough loss tonight for the Falcons and Jason Argue, who appears to have stopped the first 40 SOG before giving up two with less than 6 minutes left. Falcons appear to have kept Cody Wydo off the scoreboard. Good luck to Falcons in game 2.

2 point weekend, on the road, at a ranked team... I'll take it.

Agreed; big 1-0 win by Bentley, and another fantastic performance by Argue in net with 29 saves. After struggling in the faceoff circle the first two periods, Bentley dominated in the third on a 3 to 1 margin.

Congrats to our Dan Rubin for picking Bentley's win and gaining back a point against his AHA blog colleague Chris Lerch.

Another big opportunity coming up next weekend at Canisius.

I haven't picked a single game against Bentley all year in the AHA pick em thread, and we were the only one to pick Bentley on Saturday! Never rooting against our Falcons! Canisus has been quietly climbing in the standings, we've got a big opportunity to make a move in the standings next weekend. Story of the weekend is the phenomenal play by freshman goalie Jayson Argue. 70 saves, .972 S%, 1.01 GAA, a W and a shutout. If he can keep up anything like that, we've got a lot to look forward to.

Speaking of Dan Rubin, where has he been... we've missed his online presence this season! Hope all is well and he's enjoying the married life!

Indeed, after he starts this thread last spring, he bails on us. Or, maybe he feels posting here would be a conflict of interest with his AHA blog gig? He is still in the radio booth for games at the JAR, I think.

The Falcons need to get their PP cranking again, as they have dropped below 30% and now third in Div 1.

Yup, we've seen him at games! I just miss the JAR Pride, articles. We don't have much when it comes to press on Bentley Hockey.

As for the PP going 0-9 this weekend certainly didn't help!

Re: Bentley Falcons 2014-2015: If You Build It, They Will Come

Jason Argue now 4th and 5th in Div 1 with 0.946 Save% and 1.7018 GAA over 7 games.

Pretty cool that we got a point in the rankings today; hope that the person awarding us the point sees something that none of the others do. We got a point or two a couple of years ago before their roof (not the JAR's) collapsed in the second half.

Argue has been phenomenal. Would be shocked if he wasn't AHA Goalie of the week. As for the rankings, something similar last year when we got as many as 5. Hopefully we can shake the past and finish strong and make a playoff run!

As promised... Absolutely shocked Argue wasn't AHA goalie of the week

We need something to make up for the two points lost to Niagara in November. Lost one we shouldn't have, need to win it back. A sweep would accomplish that, IMO.

Losses to Niagara, Army and Sacred Heart certainly don't help. A sweep this weekend would be huge to distance ourselves from the logjam surrounding Holy Cross, us, Mercyhurst and Canisus

Mercyhurst is also worrisome because they have two games in hand against the rest of us on the heals of Bobby Mo.

Good to see that Alex Kubiak picked up the shorty tonight after 3.5 years of toil on the third line and PK. But, tough to settle for tie, as looked like we had the two points until late. Huge missed opportunity with PP to begin OT, but at least we got one PPG tonight.

Mercyhurst beat Holy Cross tonight, so three western teams are building their case to dominate AHA once again. But, a Bentley win on Saturday night could slow down that prospect.

Re: Bentley Falcons 2014-2015: If You Build It, They Will Come

That game Saturday was one of weakest I've ever seen Bentley play. Comparable to the Holy Cross game earlier this year. Could've been a lot worse.

And, now RIT and Air Force, with games in hand, and looking to leapfrog Bentley and Holy Cross to make it five western pod teams at the top of the AHA.

The east needs to step it up. We've got to make a statement this weekend like we did last year vs. RIT.

Fliers posted around campus that buses leaving at 6:15 pm for the JAR on Friday, with a chance to win $5000 at the first intermission.
