So am I ;)

So is Brent (when he isnt an MTU fan that is) so lord this some multiversal stuff going on :D

Always a Gopher fan, I never clock out. Being an MTU fan is like that crappy PT job you do for some extra dough. ;)

As for movies, everyone has their faves and their hateds. *shrug*

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

No I am saying just because you like a movie doesnt make a movie good to the rest of us. Your opinion (or his, or mine) is no more valuable than anyone else's. You proclaiming "I was right" is not only arrogant, it is actually factually not correct.

Hey I am glad the rating is what it is, I hope I like it. If I dont though my opinion isnt wrong. The critics opinion doesnt matter anymore now than it did when it looked like it would get panned and neither does yours. Dont like it, too flipping bad get over yourself.

Yeah, but you were ripping the film before it even came out. Telling people how much it was going to suck. It's got nothing to do with doing a review. Meanwhile the Roger Ebert of USCHO said this.

Everything I've seen looks like crap. I was interested in seeing the different take, until I saw footage. Now? F* this movie. Looks so pukeworthy it's sad.

No one's even given an actual opinion on the movie yet in here cause they ain't seen it. It's good to know that Roger can tell us how much the movie is going to suck from the trailer though. Meanwhile I've been ripped for saying I'm going to like the movie and I'm not going to base my entire experience off of a trailer. Or getting ripped for believing that they could possible have tanked the early trailers.

Actually saw more evidence of that today. The trailer I saw today (Facebook no less) was light years ahead of the two that were released earlier.

Anyway, I'll be going to see it. Roger can enjoy his ******* with it.

If they tanked the trailer, that was kind of stupid.

And if a trailer sucks, there's a good chance the movie sucks. Now, if a trailer is great, there is a good chance the movie still sucks. HOWEVER, if the trailer sucks, the movie can still be very good, due to twists/turns/etc that a trailer cannot give away. I mean, I thought the Fight Club trailer and Identity trailers sucked balls, but they had to hide what the movies really were.

You are far too heavily invested in this movie. It's like you're actually invested in it monetarily. This is just weird now, Scooby.

Let's look at the silver lining: this is the first thing Scooby's been upbeat about in a few years. ;)

The only thing that excites him is something that pretty much everyone was expecting to crash and burn after seeing the first preview. It's like he purposefully seeks out the doom and gloom. :D

He does not seek it out. It seeks him. /buddha

So, haven't been paying attention. How the heck is Suicide Squad going to be PG-13, given the subject matter? This has me a little worried. The only thing I know about it, is that it is/was supposed to be really twisted and demented and totally f*ed up. And a PG-13 movie can accomplish this?

*sigh* I'm a little worried now.

What was Deadpool? I was hoping this would be along those lines -- an "adult" movie.

Deadpool was "R," and surprised everyone that an R comic movie could do so well.

I had come across an article that I ended up skimming, talking about how PG-13 movies are becoming more and more what R movies were a generation ago. They were making an argument that perhaps there's a need for a new rating between PG-13 and R, similar to how Jaws was PG simply because the rating system at the time only consisted of G, PG, R and X.

Uh oh.

Maybe they'll handle it with indirection and implication. That would actually be better, but it would require much better writing than one would expect in a comic book movie. But then again, it can be done. Heck, Zootopia was unbelievably subversive and it was rated PG.)

(and this is to Clown as well): Batman trilogy did a good job of toeing that line. I also think the lava scene in the Sith was surprisingly graphic for a non-R movie. But I still have my doubts.

It still looks like it is going to suck. The trailers didnt change just because reviews are good. Why the hell are you so butthurt over the idea that some people might not like the movie? You sound like the idiots on Jezebel who think we are all sexist because we dare have an opinion different than theirs.

Christ you said it yourself no has given an opinion on the movie yet...we opined about what we have seen. (you know like how you opined Scott Walker was a lock to be President based on how he won Wisconsin 3 times) We think what has been released so far looks terrible. You dont. I am sure you arent alone. Notice how you are the only one taking it personal like we beat your wife?

When I see the movie, I will comment further on how it compares to what I saw in the trailers. It is called critical thinking and maybe you should try it sometime. It would do wonders for your political opinions ;)

It was always going to be PG-13 and it is still completely twisted.

Deadpool is a completely different beast and was R for completely different reasons.

Suicide Squad is hugely violent there just isnt the gore, swearing and sex needed to make it an R. Nothing to worry about.

Temple of Doom caused the PG-13 rating.

I just wish we could go back to the era of comedies having two fleeting expletives and one brief "nudity for comic effect" scene without earning the R rating, like Airplane!

Violence alone will rarely get you an R rating.

Normally it's cursing that does you in. And it's stupid (The King's Speech getting an R-rating was one of the dumbest things ever).

No. It's going to suck. It's not ok. Be worried.

Jesus would you stop being such a flipping baby...this is almost as bad as your whining about The Amazing Spiderman 2 ;)
