Basketball 2017

Yeah, the rules is the rules, it's nothing against her, anyone in her shoes would of course played in the Final Four, but it is what it is so she won't be on this particular team. She'll have plenty of chances going forward.

She missed the camp because of the Final Four and she isn't so good to give her a free spot anyway. If you think the WNBA players don't like her now, give her an olympic slot with no camp and see how *that* goes.

Christian Laetner was on the Dream Team. Clark is more deserving for this year's team than he was on that one.

Just saying.

That is probably the most true statement in this thread
Undoubtedly. Women’s basketball at the Olympics is already tough sell for viewers, mostly because the US dominates, and not in a flashy way like Dream Team did. And that’s not even getting into the racial and sexuality “discussion”.

So far Celtics D is the difference, only Luka seems to be able to score consistently. Dallas has scored more than 25 points in one quarter so far in this series.

I don’t think Caitlin Clark deserved to make the team or perhaps that it was even fair for her to make it, but the decision to leave her off seems extremely short sighted. At the end of the day sports is in the entertainment business and why not give people what they want? Your top eight players are going to make or break you and after that it isn’t going to make much difference as far as winning or losing. She was the number one player in the draft and putting up decent numbers so it’s not like she’s some scrub.

If you go off the numbers, Clark was a borderline call right now. It's kind of funny, in fact, to compare her numbers with Diana Taurasi's. Their numbers are virtually identical, with Clark picking up a few more assists per game, but also having a few more turnovers. There was just no way they weren't going to give DT another shot at the Olympics. But I put that on DT, a little bit, as well. She's had lots of Olympic glory and medals. She's 42. Why not give one of the new kids a shot and attract some new eyeballs to the game.
