Arts - cause Mookie is cultured

I recommend you start in Budapest. Then go to Barcelona and then, Warsaw. and it still could have English sub titles even if it's in German.

Mookie was originally thinking of 3 with Warsaw included, but their schedule isn't as abundant over Christmas so that can be pushed to another trip
Airfare to/from euro 2x a yr for R&R is part of the package...this year while mookie's solo he will go heavy on opera. When the kids show up next yr the family will take advantage and show them all the continent

operabase.com may be mookie favorite website. chock full of useful information. wonderful.

Re: Arts - cause Mookie is cultured

so kep won't be in vienna this december for a weekend? :D

Depends what's on the bill.

I would actually be willing to sit through Dick's Endless Preposterous Droning for the staging and set design. But I want it in Bayreuth. And in 1880. And with time-traveling Nazis.

looking for thoughts on shows saturday night in london.

kinky boots?
young frankenstein?
hamilton (only $2k!)?
book of mormon?
glengarry glen ross (with christian slater)?

Re: Arts - cause Mookie is cultured

Kinky Boots was hysterical. It’s fun and lively and very entertaining. Book of Mormon made my sides hurt from laughing so much. But if you have the money, go see Hamilton!

Book of Mormon, unless mookie is independently wealthy.

Would be interesting to see a stage version of GGR though - I imagine it translates very well.

Re: Arts - cause Mookie is cultured

So often these days we're reminded of the various ways that humans can suck as a species. American politics, Syrian refugees, genocide in Africa, corruption in SE Asia, global warming, etc., and then there are days like today. I attended a musical concert setup to benefit 3 local charities. It was a combined performance comprised of students at the school my kids attend and visiting students from an academy in Seoul. Orchestra, traditional Korean instrumentals and a few singing solos made for a wonderful day. They performed everything from a traditional violin concerto, to Gaga's Telephone with string instruments only, to a southern hoedown in which a 12 year-old Korean kid was front and center picking, fiddling and dancing away. These kids were very impressive and inspirational. So while we can represent the lowest of the low, someone had to write these beautiful pieces of musical magic and the kids made me feel that maybe there is a bright future ahead of us.
