You are already experiencing that here. It's just packaged and presented differently. All of the gun violence in this country is not just the by-product of too many guns and too easy access to them. It is the residue of design. The fascists want this. We are no different than Ireland during the troubles (worse, actually) and no different than any other country where the occasional car-bomb in a market kills 30 or 40 people.

If the USA was some other country we would probably sanction it. Or bomb it.

My favorite argument is that we can't do anything that might anger the right (i.e. gun control, expand the Court) because it might spark a Civil War. Newsflash: we already have a Civil War. It's not like the other side is going to secede from the union and put an army in the field. We're already seeing them pick us off a dozen at a time. Sure, some of them die too, but sacrifices have to be made and Fucker Carlson and Rafael Cruz don't have a problem with that.

Not just the sheep Kep. People in the middle too, and even coworkers and friends of mine, people who are far more to the left than I am.

Just like too many people believe the problem is "trump," too many of those same people believe the problem is the right simply wants to be able to choose between their own misguided and selfish notions of "safety" and my (and their) right not to be shot by some random nut job or some random less-nut job type out to settle a score.

These people, otherwise intelligent and seemingly aware, simply do not see that the fascists in control of half of our political machinery WANT this violence. They won't say it publicly (and if someone ever would it is likely a dimwit that the left dismisses as just a low-IQ 5h!tbag like MTG or Lauren Blowbert, who only say something to get a rise out of the libs) but they delight when 5 people are gunned down here, or 12 people are gunned down there. Even better when it is people of color in a large, Democratic controlled city, preferably midwestern or northeastern.

Basically, since Oxford HS shooter Ethan Crumbley pled guilty to avoid an open-and-shut trial, his counsel has asked the judge for the following:

• Crumbley wants the life-without-parole condition to be dismissed before he is sentenced for the 2021 mass shooting at Oxford High School.
• He wants to prohibit the eyewitnesses of the shooting — 12 students and two school staff members— from testifying at his upcoming hearing, during which a judge will determine whether life without parole is appropriate for him. The defense argues the eyewitness testimony is irrelevant and overly prejudicial for the so-called Miller hearing.
• Crumbley wants to keep the details and circumstances of the school shooting out of the hearing, with his lawyers arguing: "The facts of the crimes themselves, no matter how horrific, do not satisfy any of the Miller factors or justify a sentence of life without parole."
• He wants to wear street clothes to the hearing, not jail garb.

Because he's a minor facing life for homicide, he gets a Miller hearing. The judge has to consider the following in determining whether or not he meets the criteria to be imprisoned for life without parole:

• Crumbley's background and mental and emotional development
• His home life, family environment and character
• His record while incarcerated
• The circumstances of the crime, including the extent to which Crumbley was involved and how his family or peer pressure may have played a part

Reports of a mass shooting at a famous Southern California biker bar sent fleets of patrol cars and ambulances to the scene Wednesday evening.

The shooting was reported at around 7 p.m. at Cook’s Corner in rural Trabuco Canyon in Orange County.

“Believed to be multiple victims from gunshot,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Department tweeted.

Dozens of patrol cars and ambulances converged on the scene.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom was monitoring the shooting “and coordinating with local officials as more details become available,” his office tweeted.
