My coworker lives next to Lewiston, and her boyfriend was at the bowling alley. He was shot... and my coworker has no idea if he's alive or... not.

Oh but we wouldn’t want to take guns away from him!

our resident Mainer must be thrilled- just as he intended. Able to keep the guns no matter what so you can go kill dozens

Nah, we have a yellow flag law but don’t think the police have used it much. I’m pretty critical of the police but they’re between a rock and a hard place on confiscating guns.

Damn. Sorry to hear that. I hope for good news.

Rt 196 has partially reopened, but remains closed between Mark's (the store and laundry across from Lisbon High) and the city of Lewiston. The manhunt continues.

I think it’s safe to say at this point Robert Card is the guy, army reserve, supposedly an expert at firearms, spent two weeks in hospital this summer for delusions? I’m nowhere near Lewiston, Lisbon or Bowdoin where is home is. To me once his car was found no one knows where he might be. Maine has lots of places to hide. Thinking loaded .357 is going with me today.

The actions of this guy seem totally random. I'm curious what his motivations are.

But yea, dude clearly wasn't capable of owning a firearm based on reporting so far.

he heard voices and threatened to shoot up a national guard base.

There is no motivation. He's mentally ill.

The shelter in place order has been extended again to include Bowdoin (Sagadahoc County)

The fact this guy remains at large is chilling.

Definitely someone who should have guns though. We can't be depriving the mentally ill of their 2A rights for any length of time, even after a grippy sock vacation. /sarc

And any cops who've stated they won't enforce "red flag" laws because of 2A can go fuck themselves.

How do they know he has guns? Which agency is supposed to get them? Where do they store them? How long do they store them? I’m completely on board with people like the shooter not having guns but it’s easier said than done as far as getting them away from him. Maine doesn’t have the police resources more populated areas have.

Oh you’d never want to make a poor law enforcement officer recover guns from a mentally ill person. Nooooo

they’d rather get shot or have their family get shot, or their entire community. It’s all worth it
