Big shooting in L/A Maine. I heard from someone up there they saw dozens of ambulances. It’s the worst part of Maine.
 
Shooter is driving an Outback, so yeah he’s a local

16 dead so far it sounds like? 50-60 injured. Thank god he was able to use his high capacity weapon

edit- 22 dead now. Wow did he have a lot of ammo on him.

freedom!!!! Those people aren’t worth as much as his right to blow them away with a weapon of war (soon to be said from a republican)

Let's not place any blame on the weapon. He could've shoved them into an elevator and cut the wires, plummeting them to their death.
 
People have identified him as a former us army sgt and a registered sex offender. But I think there are multiple people with same name so I don’t really trust

that may not be accurate as I haven’t heard a news outlet say anything

I think the sex offender is a different guy.

They found the car in town south of Lewiston but not the shooter.
 
As far as I know, the shooter is still at large. News has footage of him emerging from a building brandishing a mighty big gun. The close up of his face is blurry but he looks very familiar. They also have footage of the car that was found.

The shelter in place order has been extended to all of Androscoggin County, not just Lewiston. I was in Brunswick and saw three ambulances heading to Lewiston to help. Also a state trooper was driving about 90 on Rt 1, probably headed to Lewiston as well.

ETA: The police have closed rt 196 from Lewiston to the south and are searching the area around the boat landing in Lisbon Falls. Not very reassuring since the same river runs through my backyard...

Shooter still free. No further updates on my phone, so the shelter in place order remains in effect. The police think he is still in Lisbon Falls. Reports are that FBI assets from Boston have been sent here to assist the manhunt.

Brunswick has cancelled school and I just got a message the entire town of Topsham will be closed tomorrow. I imagine that will be true of most towns around here.

My 83-year old neighbor is handling this well. He has his shotgun next to his door and has his handgun strapped on...I didn't ask if it was over or under his pajamas. He must look ridiculous.

Edit: Public Safety Commissioner says Robert Card is officially a "person of interest" he is very careful not to label Card as the suspect.
