Annoying Commercials 2: Searching for the MUTE button

Wow. Door Dash really wants you to enter that entire promo code, even the stuff the announcer didn't read. Good luck.

All that money spent on four ads for Temu and it was the worst one. It wasn’t one that took a risk and failed, or was ironically bad, it was just the most generic, lifeless one you could make.

"OK so we're Chinese people who don't understand the American public so can you give us some bad out-of-date animation that says 'we're Chinese people who don't understand the American public'."

I’ll give them credit, I did peg what it was about three seconds in. But I guessed Alibaba.

The best on my ballot

1st Quarter: Agent State Farm and Talkin' like Walken
2nd Quarter: Mayo Cat and Javier in Frame
Halftime: Hail Patrick
3rd Quarter: Here's to Science, Dina and Mita and Hello Down There
4th Quarter: Perfect 10, Watch Me

The worst: The entire He Gets Us campaign, American Values (RFK Jr), Judge Beauty

The Temu ads are not on the ballot for some reason.

Agent State Farm is the only one that might be remembered.

Dunkin and Doritos were my favorites. I liked the Bud Light one too. The rest were meh or bad.

Final Admeter Top 10
https://admeter.usatoday.com/lists/super-bowl-commercial-2024-usa-today-ad-meter-top-10/

10. Dina and Mita (Doritos)
9. Can't B Broken (Verizon)
8. Old School Delivery (Budweiser)*
7. Talkin' Like Walken (BMW)
6. Hard Knocks (Dove)
5. Born to Play (NFL)
4. Worth Remembering (Uber Eats)
3. Perfect 10 (Kia)
2. The DunKings (Dunkin Donuts)
1. Like a Good Neighbaaa (State Farm)

A little * for the Bud ad as the version that played during the game was trimmed considerably and IMO inferior to the one submitted for voting.

And the bottom 5
55. Who is My Neighbor (He Gets Us)
56. Love Triangle (Starry)
57. Make Your Moves Count (Turbo Tax)
58. Less Social Media. More Snapchat (Snapchat)
59. American Values (RFK Jr.)

I liked the Reese's one.

Too many people look at SB commercials the way they do Saturday Night Live. SNL was never OMG THAT EPISODE WAS GROUNDBREAKING AND FUNNY FROM START TO FINISH. Similarly there have been very few Earth-shattering SB commercials, and it's always been mostly meh. Don't overthink it - it's not Shakespeare in the round they're selling cars, gambling and potato chips.
