An Open Letter To All USCHO Crackpots and Knuckledraggers - by Rover

Even if they are leaching off the system they cost more to exclude. .

You would know better than I and what you say makes sense but people that can help themselves and don't.....

That's where I wish this bill had aimed more carefully. If you want to decrease costs over time, and perhaps the need for care, there should be more emphasis on preventative and primary care. As an aside, I always found it appalling that people in this country were denied basic health care because they didn't have an insurance card. Especially when our government spends billions+ for care around the globe from Haiti to Iraq.

Absolutely right. The most political clout is with the specialties. All the committees that control fee setting, etc have a majority comprised of specialists. The money for lobbiests isn't in preventive/primary care. Kind of excited that Mrs O stood up and started talking about nutrition and exercise.

The emphasis has shifted away from prevention. Federal funding for this was decreased in the previous administration. Stuff like nutrition programs, stop smoking programs, healthy kid initiatives, public service announcements that touted healthier lifestyles were all diminished.

Why did Rover write an "open letter" to himself?

Ask him yourself:

I'd be happy to debate you. It'd be easy to knock down your arguments, but just listing every grievance you have that you heard on clusterFox news isn't an argument. You're just ****ed that you lost and you're venting.

I was actully going to repsond to your list but the gitmo lawyers was the last straw. Not even the wingiest of wingnuts actually believes that. It's a none issue. Liz Cheney fabricated that issue and was immediatley condmened as totally wrong by almost all of Bush's justice dept lawyers. Quite simply, you can't be taken seriously.

What I want to know is who ****ed off the tanning bed industry.

Indoor tanning salons will charge customers a 10 percent tax beginning in July in one of the changes Americans will see as a result of the U.S. health-care overhaul signed into law by President Barack Obama.

I guess we now know how Obama plans to pay for his new bureaucracy.

Forum irony: a thread with such an incendiary title hosts such a reasoned exchange. :)

Reasoned exchange? There's been like two good posts and five pages of feces hurling on both sides.

Re: An Open Letter To All USCHO Crackpots and Knuckledraggers - by Rover

Rover has inspired me: I'm going to start thread called "Everyone is a poopy head except me!" and post continuously about the differences between the sonatas of Bach and Brahms, with a few witty comments about Marcel Proust and Emmanuel Kant thrown in for good measure.

If I don't get negative repped for that, I question why we even post here any more.

My favorite thing ever is being lectured by A) omnipresent busybodies who know everything about everything and know better than you what's good for you on everything and B) people who are "in the industry" and therefore their opinion matters so much more than anyone else's, including (especially?) others in the industry with differing opinions.

I like the plan to make Dems vote on eliminating viagara prescription coverage for sex offenders.

You know, if only they had opened up this bill for criticism... but then we'd have a transparent government... and we can't have that when there's change to be had.

This is stupid. Both sides need to have someone dope slap them. Have we no more statesmen/women? It seems that all we have are a bunch of spoiled brats who won't work with each other. Doing this stuff makes them worse than the dumbheads like Pelosi and Reid. It sure isn't productive. Exactly what will it achieve besides plug up the works so important things can't be dealt with?

Why not open the bill up to the public for consideration... hell, why not hold hearings on such an important matter?

I think the viagara bit is exactly the comeuppance the Dems deserve for not opening this up. I don't see why these guys shouldn't stand to be embarrassed.
