@DU_Hockey & Pio family lost a great teammate, person, warrior, & 2 time NCAA Champ today as Bob Trembecky passed away. #pio4ever #legend

Trembecky was a forward on the 1968 and 1969 Championship teams with Keith Magnuson.

A sad day for DU hockey. He was a friend. A solid, hard working player. Couple of memories of Bob: A bunch of us went to see Bonnie and Clyde in Duluth at the '68 NC. And we were all suitably impressed at the violent end of the film. In his rookie season, Bob took a tremendous gash on his forehead after being slammed into the chicken wire (yes, I'm not kidding) at the old Arena. Took 25 or 30 sutures, then returned to the game. Classy. Talented. A great Pioneer. And a great loss.

Bob was named to the first all tournament team in '68 and the second team in
'69. He scored a goal in each of the championship games.

Denver stands at #4 in this week's lacrosse rankings.

The men's team plays its final regular season home game this Saturday, at noon, against Marquette. The game is likely to sell out by midweek so if you're a local alum you might consider stopping by the ticket office early in the week. I did earlier this morning.

The weather forecast for Saturday looks favorable calling for a high in the low 70s. Good weather for spectators so get a ticket for the game.

DU has a TSI of 6 which means they would likely host a first round game on May 10th or 11th. Quarterfinals this year are May 17th at Hofstra on LI and may 18th at Delaware Stadium in Newark DE. It would be sweet if DU comes to Hofstra again for the Quarters. Championship is in Baltimore with semis on May 24th and Finals on May 26th.

Lax committee uses laxbytes.com criteria to pick teams. It gives us 58% chance of making tourney if we don't win BET. Hopefully PSU and OSU run table; we'll then probably have 2 more top 20 wins. Anyway, hope to see you again at Hofstra.

Yep that was a real good one against Hopkins last time at Hofstra.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

This talk about "former alums" reminds me of the guy who claimed he knew Doris Day before she became a virgin.

Come to think of it I might be a former alum, meaning that I could be a future student. I may even have some eligibility remaining.

Yeah, um operator. Gimme the the number for 1-800-Hello Monty.

Sad to see George out of the playoffs. Will be interesting to see how the next few years go.
