I wouldn't think so.Does Hakstol's extension put more pressure on DU to Give Gwoz a new contract?
I wouldn't think so.
Now if UND fired Hakstol that would put tremendous pressure on DU for obvious reasons.
Gwozdecky is under contract through 2014 with a base salary "between $200,000 and $250,000," according to his agent, Leigh Augustine.

Supposedly DU is working on long term deals for Gwozdecky & Tierney.
I believe the original ten-year deal was signed in 2002 and then was renegotiated/bumped-up in 2004 after the Natty.Interesting. My guess is that Gwoz would get bumped up to Hakstol-like numbers (read: $300k base)...or at the very least should get bumped up.
This current contract was renegotiated in 2004 after the Natty.
Reportedly it features a large annuity that comes due after the 10th year of the contract.
They want to do it, but if you take a look at the recent Mankato deal, some alums stepped up big-time. I'm sure that's what DU is looking for.Nice. Gwoz deserves to be one of the top 5 paid coaches in the game, and it would really surprise me if DU wasn't proactive in getting a new deal done prior to the start of the National.
Drew Shore had a goal in his first AHL Play-off game. Joe Colborne with 2 assists for the Marlies.
AND Matt Carle just scored the 1st goal in tonight's Flyers-Pens game.
.Quentin Shore — The third Shore brother to play in the World U18 Championship, Quentin lived up to the family name. Brothers Nick and Drew each had quite a bit of success at this tournament, but Quentin kept up. He scored three goals, all of which came from a good distance. Shore has a terrific shot and while foot-speed may be an issue, he has good size and a natural scoring ability. Because of that, he should be a mid-round pick. There is a fair amount of upside to Shore as he should continue to round out his game over the next few years and be an impact player in college. Committed to the University of Denver
