I'd like to offer my congratulations to University of Denver on a great season.

Thinking back to October, with expectations where they were, to what this team accomplished -taking a Sioux team with 7 seniors and no losses to pros to the wire for MacNaughton, Broadmoor, and an NCAA regional final, I would have said no way. But the Pioneers managed a way to get it done. Might I also suggest that this may have been Gwozdecky's greatest coaching job?

Beating Denver in an NCAA game is special, not just because its been 47 years, but because of the feeling that you really accomplished something.

Congratulations to Denver on a great season, you're going to have a great team next year, too, and I'll be looking forward to those games (even more than Minnesota)!

Very impressed with your freshman goaltender in the few games I've seen Denver play. With him around the next couple years, I'll be surprised if you're not in at least one FF.

Congrats on a great season Pioneers! You were the one team I did not want to face today...too bad the NCAA stuck the top ranked WCHA teams into the same bracket...probably would have ended up playing in St Paul again in a couple weeks.

Sigh.... I had a feeling this would be the result. 2 overtimes in the late game? Dang... Oh well, I feel like this season was a winner despite this loss tonight. We went one game farther than last year's senior laden team. We are so young and look how far we came. It is definitely a winner season and I am proud of them. I will miss the seniors, they were a great class. Oh God, it's going to be a long off season. As for the final four, I'm not sure who to rout for, probably Duluth, we can't have UND taking 8 NCAAs.

Congrats to the Pios on an impressive season. You guys should be proud, especially with all DU lost after last year. In spite of losing all that talent, it was a better TEAM this year, IMO.

Sucks we lost but it was a great year, especially because everyone, myself included, thought this was going to be a rebuilding year. The game was closer than the score indicated. We just ran out of gas in the third.

Definitely true. It was more like a 3-1 game, 4-1 at the worst...not nearly as lopsided as the scoreboard shows. DU was in it until very late in the game.

Congrats on a great season you guys are going to be scary good next year. Hope the money isn't dangled in front of Zucker he's a fun one to watch.

I'll chime in as well and say awesome season for Denver. A lot of people were expecting Denver to crash and burn after the loss of all that talent last year, but Gwoz is one of the 3-4 best coaches in all of college hockey. He got just about as much as you possibly can from this team, and if I were a Pios fan, I would be beeming with pride about what they accomplished. Denver will definitely be a favorite next year, and will continue to be a top program for years to come. I really felt coming into the game today that it was the top two teams in the country battling it out for a spot in the Frozen Four. I still feel that way. The game was significantly closer than the score, and had a bounce or two gone the other way, we could be talking about how Denver matches up with Michigan. It always sucks to lose in the NCAA, especially to a rival (trust me, I know), but alas, it happens. Again, congratulations on a great season, and I hope for more great matchups between our teams next season.

Didn't Boar flame BC as well? That dude needs to find his/her own team to cheer for instead of just running his/her mouth at other teams after they lose.

Congrats on a very good season Denver. As others have reiterated, the score doesn't indicate on how close this game truly was. It was another tough battle between these two teams. Your team is going to be really good next year.

I'll add my congrats to DU as well for a terrific season, one that exceeded most "experts", and my, expectations. I will admit that I was very, very nervous about this game until Malone's empty netter.

Nice season. It was a good ride, and the OT win against WMU will be a nice memory. Our Pioneers Just didn't have enough to get it done today. Seems like we were just kept on the perimeter in the last two games, and we didn't have many chances to drive the puck to the net for those grade A chances. The goal on the Zucker penalty was a killer, as I felt we needed to get to the third period only one goal down. Didn't happen. Whatever. We broke the string of first found exits, and we are primed to have a great team next year. Also, I will save about a thousand bucks by not taking the trip to St. Paul. So there is the bright side. I guess I will root for UMD. Go Bulldogs, and thanks to our Pioneers for a fun season.

He's the property of the Wild. If there's any money dangled in front of Zucker, it won't be of the paper variety.

That being said, another tremendous year for DU. Sucks that it ended the way it did for you guys. But you're all welcome aboard the Bulldog Bandwagon.

Congrats on your great season DU. Your team made me really nervous here late in the season. I have to say I'm not unhappy to see your guys heading home for the year. Lots of great young talent on your squad, I'm sure you'll be right back in the mix next year.

This really was an exceptional season, given the final result compared to the initial expectation. And there seems to be every reason to have high hopes for next season.

Now, let's hope for some really fun games to watch in April.
