Re: All Things Denver XXX

At first glance you'd say "no way" especially with the brother enrolled at CC. But with the possibility of family facing medical related expenses in the U.S., signing with St. Louis now gives Jaden an extra year of bonus money, a year closer to free agency and a way to help with some bills.

Sad situation if that's a factor in this, but these are the times we live in.

Jaden Schwartz is one of those CC players you hate to love, like Chad Rau, Marty Sertich and Peter Senja. I secretly loved all of those guys had it not been for their choice of schools. As for Jaden, I will hate/love to see him go!!!

Rumor has it Donovan is gone. Will probably be confirmed at some point tomorrow. Still unofficial.

Aside from Mayfield, who else do we have to reload on D? And am I right that Nutini is the only D man we're losing due to graduation?

Islanders don't even have Donovan on their latest prospect report (3/29), but they do have 2 players from UND.

It has been confirmed that Donovan will be signing with the Islanders today. Check DG's blog. Islanders will announce it this afternoon.

Weircoch, Bozak, Skinner, Dingle, Statsny, Carle, Butler, Colborne now Donovan!! Sigh, make it stop!!! Can you imagine if these guys had stuck around? I guess the only consolation is the other teams have to go through this too.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Just a bit of fun with some numbers in looking at Denver's three top scoring freshmen this past season [while not forgetting Nick Shore's commendable 7-11-18 and a contribution by Jarrod Mermis of 4-3-7].

Zucker 23-22-45
Makowski 6-24-30
Bennett 9-16-25
Totals 38-62-100

The five players accounted for 49 of the team's 136 goals or 36% of the scoring.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

I just noticed that 7 of us regular posters are on the site right now!! I wonder if that means something?

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Clearly, his game was not progressing at DU the way Garth Snow would like...

Snow is pretty much the worst when it comes to raiding college teams of young talent. Oh, by the way....how is this tactic working out for his team? (29-36-12)

Tough break for DU. I'm sure he will have a solid replacement in the near future.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

DU made a nice run especially considering we were in a rebuilding year. A good crop of freshman and the team could be something special next year.

Anyone going to the frozen four?
