Re: All Things Denver XXX

YEs, yes, yessssss!!!! I have always had a problem with him. I have no problem respecting a good player from a rival team, but I never could shake that feeling of betrayal when he bolted and signed with ND. The name "Traitoir" was perfect!!!
It was a very complicated situation. I believe he wanted to come to Denver, but his parents wanted to watch him play and Grand Forks was far closer to Winnipeg.

Even after he committed to Denver, the our coaches knew we didn't have him in the bag.

At the end of the day, it didn't turn out all that badly. Wish him the best of luck with the Islanders or whomever and move on.

Now I understand crozz-czech's "closer to home" comment.

You're right of course, best of luck to him. After all we did enjoy Weircioch.

Colorado State's men's hoops coach just received a pay raise...

Tim Miles had a base salary of $420,000. On July 1, that will be bumped to $585,000. On July 1, 2012, that will move up to $750,000. So, over the course of the next 14 months, he'll receive a total raise of $330,000. Plus he'll get a $250,000 bonus if he stays throughout the contract.

Denver recruits are ranked highly again this year.
Zucker is supposedly the 2nd best returning forward in the nation on collegehockeysource.com's rankings.

Let's hope their rankings are more accurate than their proof reading: "Luke Salaza (sic)" "Minnesota Duelth (sic)"

I also found some problems with this site:
1- Jack Connolly - Sr - Minnesota-Duluth - Though his brother has left for the pro's, Jack will be back leading the way for the reigning national champs.

I am almost sure they are not brothers.

2- They claim ND is "absolutely loaded at every position" In the article about Gregoire leaving, t said something like "in addition to losing 7 seniors they are losing Hextal and Gregoire." That's gonna leave a mark!!! (said with thick British accent)

Somehow I think Drew Shore would be one of the top returning forwards, probably ahead of "Luke Salaza". Of course, in the team preview the source had William Wrenn on the team and Drew departing.
Perhaps the source needs to do some fact checking as well as proof reading.:p

Re: the Connollys, I seem to recall Jay mentioning the fact that they aren't brothers several hundred times.

Lacrosse final

DENVER--14

JOHNS HOPKINS--9

Denver advances to the Final Four on Memorial Day Weekend and will play Virginia. Way to go Pioneers!!

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Way to go DU. Unfreakinbelievable. Those dudes announcing the game kept waiting for Hop to take control. It looked like they were going to do it in the 3rd, but the three straight Pioneer scores put the end to that stuff. It wasn't that they were necessarily against DU, they just couldn't believe the Pios really deserved to be in this game, Hop with the huge reputation. Think of hockey, with Hop leading DU after two periods. Anyway, the announcers really couldn't wrap their little brains around the concept of DU winning this one until very late.

Best quote: Tierney says "we look slower on tape." Boy, howdy.

To come this far in Lax and have the world end, just isn't fair.

I've had a headache all day. On the other hand, the Crown Royal and Xanax have combined and I've been wondering what would happen if DU had to face Minnesota in LAX. Would they boycott us because of our "foreign" players? I think they'd give it a try.
