Re: All Things Denver XXX

Doug never played with Ken. Doug turned pro after his junior year (1978). Ken was a frosh in September 1978 and just missed playing with him. The frosh in the fall of '78 included Ken, Andy Hill, Glenn Anderson, Glenn Johnson, Ed Beers and Scott Robinson, among others.

Mybad!!! But seriously, look at those names!! Can you imagine how excited we would be now to be getting that Freshman class? I know Anderson bolted early, but how many of the others stuck around?

Re: All Things Denver XXX

That's excellent news for the WCHA, and Denver. IMO, Zucker coming back firmly puts DU as the favorite in the WCHA. I think they'll battle with CC, and, depending on who comes back, North Dakota and Duluth. He was a lot of fun to watch last year.

Yep, hopefully nothing changes with him and the Wild during the summer. Matt Donovan will be the only DU player to leave early after the season when potentially there were three with Zucker and Drew Shore. I see Kristo is staying at UND which is good for the Sioux.

Kristo, Dell and Blood have all confirmed they will be back. We're still waiting on Hextall and Gregoire. While Hextall would be a key contributor, Gregoire is the big one. If he comes back, North Dakota will be on the same level as CC and DU (I still think DU is the favorite). If not, then I think we drop down into that next tier, playing for 3rd-5th. We're going to be very strong defensively, but may struggle scoring early on. To have a senior with Gregoire's pedigree, would be essential in getting off to a good start.

I may have to run over to the Islanders' offices and give them a glowing report on Gregoire :D;)

First, du78, do you have an answer for me about that epic Freshman class of '78?, how may stuck around? Secondly, I have to say I still have a bad taste in my mouth about Gregoire. He should have been a Pio **** it!!! I was willing to put up with him in ND for a couple of years, but all 4 years?, come on!!!!!

Zac Larraza with a goal in USA's 5-4 victory over Canada. USA will play Sweden for the gold.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

One more game for either Chris Butler or Matt Carle. Both got a lot of ice time yesterday.

Ken Berry and Glenn Anderson both played their frosh season in 1978/89 and then played in the 1980s Olympics for Team Canada in what would have been their sophomore years. Ken came back the season after the Olympics for his soph season in 1980/81. He turned pro after the 1980/81 season. Glenn didn't come back and turned pro after the Olympics. Ed Beers, Glenn Johnson, Andy Hill and Scott Robinson were all 4-year letter winners.
