Re: All Things Denver XXX

Are we really okay with the idea that it's accceptable to bully someone off these threads?

Isn't that really what you're trying to do with this very post?

I think the key word is attacking. I for one am not okay with that. Why would you attack the players or the coach of your team? Why would you want to attack another fan of the team, isn't that a violation of the rules here?

I for one believe Swami when he said he had that background. I'm not sure why it was important but I believe him nonetheless.

You seem rather proud of that rather than being embarrassed. I can't comprehend why. Sad to say I would have laughed if dad had shut up the loudmouth or if grandma rolled over his toes with her walker.

Sounds like someone can dish it out but can't take it.

If you don't like it, the boys on the hockey team have two words for your doubting asses. :p[/QUOTE]

I guess we're making progress if you recognize that you were one of the targets of my rant. You're not as hopeless as I thought. You're responses are totally inaccurate, but at least you responded. Your too clever by half efforts to turn my arguments back on me fail miserably. Now if we can just make some progress on your enormous ego.

What I'm going to do is put your on ignore (the only DU poster I've so honored) hoping that if enough of us do that, your remarks will become a "series of echos on a desert of silence." Quote from Allen DuPont Breck.

These on-going arguments are starting to get to me. Seriously...it’s the playoffs!…PLAYOFFS?! I’ll address most of my comments to BigBossMan since he is the instigator (which means Anderson is calling 2 minutes on Old Pio as we speak ). I basically agree with you on your preferred way of supporting the team. You like to be optimistic and cheer on the team no matter what. I feel ya. I texted one of my buddies a week ago that DU was going to make the frozen four. Rational? Perhaps not. How I like to look at things? Sure.

However, I think it’s a bit out of line to be attacking people for their views and perhaps being critical at times. There is not one person here (or anywhere else, including every single person associated with the DU hockey program) that isn’t frustrated by the amount of short-handed goals that DU has been giving up recently. Does it really make you a bad fan for writing it? USCHO is a place where fans can come and express their joys, frustrations, and any other thoughts that they have. It’s a great place for the truly obsessed and fanatical people to come.

Which brings me to my next thought - you questioning the “fan worthiness” of some. I’ve had season tickets to DU since the start of the ’04-’05 season, listen to almost every away game on the internet radio or webcast, go to basically every game in the Springs and AFA, and take a yearly expedition to an out-of-state arena. I’d love to join you in Green Bay and St. Paul but I have a job that doesn’t allow me to take vacations in March and April. By all “normal” accounts, I’m an obsessed and passionate fan. But, frankly, my “fan worthiness” is embarrassing compared to many on this website (I’ve met a lot of them and hope to meet more, including BBM). People that have been following the program for longer than I have been alive. People that follow DU with every bit of passion that you claim to have.

I don’t post a lot, but I’ve learned a lot through the years from reading the posts of other more experienced DU fans on this board. “Negativity” can get on my nerves too but I look at us all a big family. Finding a die-hard DU hockey fan is difficult and I appreciate all of the relationships I’ve formed on this board. It’s made my DU hockey experience 1000% more enjoyable.

With that said – DU, go out there and kick WMU’s and UND’s azz and prove all those naysayers and negative USCHO posters wrong! :p Those two words: Frozen Four!

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Hard to believe this would have been Bozak's senior year. When he left, it wasn't a big surprise. I guess you could say Colborne and Wiercioch weren't a surprise, but it seems to me neither were as ready as Bozak

Interviews with "Bozie" and cc's Joey Crabb. Maple Leafs.com did put cc in Denver.
Guess that makes them the 3rd school along with Mountain Metropolitan Central Colorado State:p http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=554744

I wish I could get time off from work and attend every single F5 and NCAA tourney game that DU is in but since I can't do that does it make me less of a fan??

I did get a chance to go to the 2009 F5 and it was a blast! Bottom line LETS GO DU! Beat the Broncos!

Re: All Things Denver XXX

How many of you Pio fans out West (and elsewhere) are coming to GB for the weekend? It's a fairly easy trip for we DU fans in the upper Midwest, about a 6-hour drive for me through Michigan's UP and into dreaded Badger Country. (I'll deliver a head shot to someone to pay homage to Jeff Sauer.) Am guessing I'll be among a small handful wearing the DU colors (yes, with some WMU bling thrown in too, I have ties to both) and am expecting to be surrounded in a sea of green. If DU and UND survive Saturday as favorites (though I think Western will push DU very hard and will win if Denver doesn't focus and play hard for 3 periods), I've got to think that officiating style could dictate the outcome. I'd be happy with a game on Sunday as classic as was last Saturday with a reversed outcome. Time for George to get back to the Frozen Four and get himself a long-term contract at Magness before Penn State and others come calling more seriously.

Re: All Things Denver XXX

Let's all hope Swami comes back! I wonder if he is already back under a new alias.....;)

This whole scenario has played out before, a bit differently but essentially the same. Back on the old USCHO board of the mid/late 90s, he had a different name than Swami, which came about around 10 years ago. If history is any indication, he'll be back to give his well thought out and well meaning posts and thoughts -- though probably for his own reasons, under a new moniker. It is what it is...life goes on and DU still plays this Saturday. Go DU!

But what about the "Puck Swami" merchandising products & licensing fees? Surely he can't walk away from all that money.
