Albany Regional Weekend

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

About the only "problem" I've seen is there's a guy who's probably 45 or so who sits near me who occasionally has a beer or three too many and then starts shouting truly nonsense complaints at the refs.
That's just UMLFan. He does that without beer too. :D

They have an upstairs there? From the looks of it, that's where this place used to be, can't remember the name of it, was like a 1920's gangster/jail-themed name. The Hoosegow, or Iron Bar, or something like that. That was a decent place, although looking at the Monk's beer list, it looks a bit more upscale than the old place was.

Ah, just remembered it. It was called The Big House.

When it was The Big House it was 3 levels, However it's been gone for a while now. It's currently a Mexican resturant that is on my list of new places to visit in Albany. They turned a small part of the Big House into the Merry Monk, which you can enter from North Pearl St.

Just a friendly word of advice, when you leave the arena from the front, walk left up towards State and North Pearl St, not towards the highway bridges you see to the right.

Does anyone know if re entry will be allowed between games? I know the Frozen four is doing it, but they issued separate tickets for each game at that venue. I hope they have also taken the regionals out of the dark ages.

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

Just spoke to a representative at the Times Union Center, NO re-entry allowed between games on Saturday.

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

Possibly a decent meal rather than arena food, a cold frosty beverage, which is not provided to the rabble in the seats.

In an hour? By the time you left arena got to lets say a bar got a beverage ordered ur food you would have to turn around and get back to the arena. We all know how fast an hour goes

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

There is actually a bar/restaurant located right outside the TU Center, Wolf's 111. Right across from the Fan Store. Don't think you can take stuff in the arena with you though.

Wolf's has been closed for a while now. It sits vacant, like so many other former Albany resturants/bars.
