Albany Regional Weekend

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

THanks for all the input in this thread. Was great for those of us visiting. Out of all the Regionals (4 in recent memory, last one >20 yrs ago so that one doesn't count) this arena had the nicest, most good humored ushers and staff. AND- I could ring my cowbell without someone trying to take it away!
Bad outcome last night but great place to watch a game.

I agree with you on the staff. They were the nicest I've dealt with as a member of Corner Crew. I was however disappointed with the NCAA's mandate that Corner Crew had to sit during play since our tradition is to stand for the duration of play. The security dude that came and told us this did it in the best manner he could knowing full well we wouldn't like it but also made sure Quinnipiacs student section had to adhere to these rules as well so that it was fair treatment for both fan bases.

I heard fans were getting on the RIT students for standing up during the game. Honestly if it wasnt for them the RIT QU game would have had no atmosphere at all. Im so glad they brought the energy and all of their cheers they had a bunch of them

Re: Albany Regional Weekend

Glad to hear that everyone had a positive experience with the arena and city. Feels great to hear positive reviews once in a while instead of the standard "OMG WHY CHUZ THIS PLACE THERE IS NOTHING TO DO IN BETWEEN GAMES" bs. Did anyone ride the bull at City Beer Hall?

I never made it there. Spent my time at the Pearl St. pub

I do greatly appreciate the heads-up on the ESP East Garage across the arterial from the arena. When you're paying $50 for a game (and $8.50 for Dinosaur) free parking makes it feel a lot better.
