Here are a few shots from last night’s 4-1 loss to MTU. The first photo is Petan’s backhand shot past Jenks that put MTU up 1-0. The rest are just a few random shots. It was hard to find any Nook highlights. HERE is a link to about 15 more shots.

The boys played better last night but still lost 1-3 to MTU. Gave up two PP goals and an empty netter. Even 5x5 we seem to let teams skate to the tops of the circles untouched. Getting swept at home is not good, even against good teams. It’s only December but next week’s home series with LSSU is a must sweep.
Being undermanned didn’t help. Both injury (2) and discipline issues (4). We only skated with 11 forwards and 2 goalies, but suited up 7 d-men.
Other thoughts. Sure would be nice if the Carlson Center would drop a few hard wired internet/phone connections. The wireless credit card machines do not work well enough in that building. Concessions/beer/merchandise lines can come to a stand still. Also, I would think the Fire Marshall or Borough Risk Manager would have something to say about the snow that blocks the northwest exit doors. It’s used by a lot of folks after the game and so far this year it is like running an obstacle course, assuming you can get the doors to fully open.

I really hope the 'Nooks have an answer offensively this weekend. If they thought Tech was defensively sound, LSSU is another animal. The Lakers' don't have the offensive side that Tech does, but it's going to take a gutsy effort for the 'Nooks to get some very much needed points.

Four penalties is not that many, but when you let the other team score almost every time it's way too many. And almost every power play the Nanooks had the lakers had an odd man rush the other way. Some of those calls and non calls may have been garbage, but it can't be blamed on the officials. The Nanooks need to play better special teams!!

The Laker goalies didn't get much help from their teammates that weekend and Huntsville smelt the blood in the water. They deserved the sweep. Can't wait for the rematch.

Aside from the comically bad holding call on Huysmans that led to LSSU's fourth goal, the Lakers deserved that one. Absolutely pitiful second period combined with atrocious special teams.
