Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Gems like this are why the UAA blog is one of the funniest e-rags on the interweb.

And not to pollute your dreams with actual facts, but I bet the 15% population increase in the last decade in Fairbanks really explains that "decline".

Birth rates always increase under welfare.

So there's that.

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Exactly JJ. The Aces are not a sure thing, it's pure economics and they are hurting with attendance being down. Unlike UAA, who does not depend on attendance, the Aces do. They have huge expenses.

The one major thing that keeps them going is their affiliation with the St. Louis Blues and Peoria, any loss of that (a very real possibility given the ever changing landscape of minor league hockey) and they could be hurting.

We apologize for the system crash and are truly sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused. It appears our anti spam filter could not recognize any pattern of intelligent thought in a number of posts by Seawolve fans, which unfortunately brought the whole system down.

We are currently investigating a cunning international cyber terrorist known as "Alaska Hockey" as the primary perpetrator. Messages so intricately disguised as gibberish could not happen by accident. Authorities have successfully closed his Moscow stronghold, and have his co-conspirators Boris and Natasha behind bars. Ironically, that’s usually where you find Alaska Hockey. Even with all the resources of USCHO behind us, we are as yet unable to break his code.

USCHO will attempt to restore deleted posts. But we must first filter and scrub all Seawolve posts of incoherent ramblings. This could take a while. Please bear :) with us.

I always knew you could see Russia from the Sully.

Shades of the “Unabomber”, or a severe case of Seasonal affective disorder? No I imagine it’s a mishmash of both…this year.
(SAD) is a type of depression that generally occurs each year during fall and winter.
In _airbanks fall is the last 3 weeks of August & September, and winter is October, November December, January, Feburary March and 2 weeks Of April. So be nice to mmf as this always comes on hard about Governors Cup Time and only sun light will be of assistance which is about 3 more weeks before the sun even hits in that subarctic village. Hang in there mmf Mr Sunshine is on his way

I read your ramblings and am often reminded of Lewis Black. I mean that as a compliment.

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Not sure about UAF, but UAA uses tickets sold, not butts in seats. So hypothetically, let's say UAF uses tickets sold as well. That would mean that UAA, which has roughly 5,000 more students (counting full-time and part-time at both schools), and which is located in a city that has roughly 175,000 to 180,000 more people than the FNSB, is averaging a total of 78 more sold/promotional tickets than your UA system patriarch in Fairbanks.

Remember, there are lies, **** lies, and statistics.

My speculation the “Super Bowl After party at the Carlson” was not a big success as only 1603 showed up for the Festivities.

Re: Alaska Airlines Governors Cup UA vs. UAA Feb 25th & Feb 26th

Crappy weekend for both of us.

I'm watching a replay of the UAA-Sioux game on FCS right now and one of the UND announcers just referred to UAA as the Seahawks.

Yep, heard it. Pretty ignorant, eh?

Hopefully when both our teams have our bye week we don't free fall too far.

Thanks to our recent troubles, we are now in a 3-way tie for 6th. If we lay an egg against Sparty this weekend we are going to be in a world of hurt.

I'm at work and therefore too lazy to look it up, who do y'all play this weekend and where?

Unfortunately, both the Nanooks and the Seawolves are near other teams in the standings who have 2 games in hand. Ouch.

Anchorage is not as blessed as _airbanks with their 2 new-fangled “Tourist Traps “with in shooting distance from the Carlson. I wonder which one get’s more inattention?
The spot where Sarah gave her “I quit speech”,
Or Joe Miller’s (I couldn’t beat a write-in) campaign headquarters for the U. S. senate race?
mmf you may have to camphene this for squarebanks as he’s "working".
