95th Season of Hockey- Michigan Tech Huskies 2015-2016 - Thread #1

Demico Hannoun is now committed to Northern Michigan. Anyone know what the deal was with his decommitment? He wasn't putting up quite as many points as we might have expected, but he certainly would have helped the team. Maybe he couldn't actually get accepted to our fine institution...

Im not sure exactly what happen with him, another thing to remember is with not coming in this season, Hannoun lost the chance to play with his cousin, Alex Petan, plus both the assistants that recruited him have moved on.

Let's go Huskies!!! Great gut check weekend against MSU at home.... Now it's time to keep in the hunt for the WCHA by taking at least 3 points at BGSU.

Oh no! Not to our biggest rival.

We did nab Blake Pietila from them back in the day. If he turns out to be as useful as Blake, we'll call it even, I guess... :-/

That was disappointing to let the lead go like that in the third.

If only I could. My phone, my tablet and my laptop won't load the client you are using.

Let's all hope MTU can get the win tomorrow and NMU does it again as well, that should put MTU ahead of UMD in PWR.

Giving them up back-to-back was even worse. :(

That's more or less what I was getting at.
We had that game won. 15 seconds was all it took to swing two points in the conference.

Hope that point doesn't come back to haunt us, along with the 4 we dropped to UAA. Played well, just not 60 minutes.

My thoughts.
We were the better team for sure. It was a very high tempo game at first. Maybe the highest I've ever seen. BG was panicking at times. In the first our breakout was so fast that Bg couldn't do their normal Goonish behavior and get turnovers at our blue line. After that we slowed it down and it cost us.

Second there was a lot of penalties committed away from the puck, none called except on us.
I thought that the refs did a poor job, On a number of occasions we got mugged, flattened and nearly hurt, with no call.We also got boarded routinely.

With the Audio problems Mix93 was having at time, I couldn't really hear the chants through the audio....granted I had the volume down at a reasonable volume to make sure the kids could sleep and stay asleep.

I could hear their displeasure at the puck that never crossed the line. From my only trip there that I recall, there were lots of hockey-uninterested people there and it was more an avenue to socialize during the play. It sounded like that hasn't changed in two years, with the audio feed I was hearing.

Without seeing the play, from the audio, your assessment is pretty spot on to what I was hearing through Dirk and Randy.

Tech played a solid game, but BG controlled the final 2 periods and played with more urgency.
I was nervous every time Dufour, Spezia hit our zone.
Need the full 60 tonight and absolutely need the 2 points. Do not let the foot off the pedal tonight. BG will be much better tonight as well.

I also saw 2-3 hooks that should have been called on offensive rushes by Tech.
