First, really? Of all teams, you think it would be less of a downer for SCSU fans? We are known as one-and-done university.

If you look at the WCHA predicitons thread, plenty of people picked SCSU to finish 2nd or 3rd. On the site FS23 was contributing to, College Hockey Weekly, two people picked SCSU to make the frozen four.

Wes, you said Gopher fans would be more upset with a one and done. I disagree. You guys were in Tampa not even 12 months ago, we have never gotten to the Frozen Four and it would be more "One and Done U" talk.

Don't underestimate how ****ed we would be as a fanbase

I am sure I will be ripped, too, because they were "complimenting" us. Yes, quite the compliment when other fanbases come into our postseason game thread and say 'even if you lose you should be happy for just making it.' Don't care. Would anyone do that in the Gophers thread? The Sioux thread? The Badgers thread? Probably not.

Jesus...I was just trying to say good job this year so far. You've exceeded my expectations. Good luck in the tournament. Some people are so defensive. There was absolutely no ill-will intended in any of my comments.


As a side note, I think it would be much more embarrassing losing to Yale than it would to Notre Dame.

To be fair, you don't have any cred with our fanbase and wont be given the benefit of the doubt. At best your post was worded poorly and kinda condescending. At worst... it was Jantastic. We aren't some "cute little canvass" like we are treated, we root for a team that can't catch nor has created any breaks for itself in the NCAA but we have the talent to win one more big trophy this year.

SCSU may have exceeded your expectations, but you pick us to split or lose every weekend. I had us finishing second in my preseason picks. They haven't exceeded our expectations yet.

And I think Wes was genuine in his compliment, just a little too much tArrogance made it sound bad :D

It was absolutely as condescending and back-handed as a compliment can be. I would have taken offense if roles were reversed.

My best compliment is that while I hope you win your first game, I want you to lose the next, because if the Gophers make it to Pittsburgh I don't want them to have to face you again.

Because you know me and what I was trying to convey much more than I ever will, right? Even though I've reiterated that I didn't mean any offense by it, I must be trying to put down SCSU. I cheered for you guys to beat Wisconsin and it had nothing to do with being condescending. 9 times out of 10, I would much rather see a Minnesota school succeed than one from another state. I'm proud of what the Gophers, Huskies and Mavs have done this year.

If I HAD been trying to talk down on SCSU, trust me, you would've known. It would have been far less subtle for all those who struggle with reading comprehension in regards to subject meaning.

But again, **** it...I don't need Husky cred from some random middle-aged guys on the Internet. Those that know me, know the point I was trying to get across. This whole thing is just getting dragged out now and I really don't feel like spending anymore time on it. Take it however you please.

And I too wish for your team to not show up in Pittsburgh... bc I think it helps my team's chances, and bc **** the Gophers :D

But the difference is, if the Gophs lose, I'll cheer for the Huskies. The difference between Jan and Marcia.

So much for Notre Dame fans showing up.

I think St. Cloud wins this game. Notre Dame is 2-4 against teams that made the tournament. They beat a bunch of scrubby teams to get into the tournament.

Maybe if you and your friends showed up this would be more SCSU-Notre Dame and SCSU-Gopher
