#4 SCSU vs. #1 Notre Dame in Toledo: Jan and Rudy for a One Night (Afternoon) Stand

How the Gophers do in the post-season won't affect my feelings about their regular season nor will it take away the fact that they won another Mac Cup. I fully expected the Gophers to make it BACK to the Frozen Four this year after their successful season last year. Anything less than that will be dissappointing for me.

SCSU is in unprecedented territory. They've had their most successful regular season and won their first MacNaughton. Congratulations for that. Good luck in the future. Other than that...**** it. Thank you for reminding me to never compliment the Huskies again.

That's where you are wrong. This program has had better regular seasons, but just didn't win the regular seasonTitle. This is not the programs most talented team or team with the best record.

But the difference is, if the Gophs lose, I'll cheer for the Huskies. The difference between Jan and Marcia.

I won't cheer for any team if the Gophers lose. I'll PREFER some teams to win, but won't cheer for them. Nor will I cheer for teams to lose. Same thing: I'll PREFER they lose, and that's all.

On paper, if SCSU doesn't come out of this region, I'd be surprised.

But if you want to look at history......get ready to laugh some more.

Apparently, it's a Minnesota thing they got going on.

I'll be at the games. Should be some good hockey.
I'm hoping for good hockey from my team. They have been rather Jekyll and Hyde-like this season.

I'm cheering for the Gophers tomorrow. Does that make you feel better?

It makes me all warm inside. Especially due to the fact you're doing it to try and get some action from some chick. ;)

Well, so much for this being a discussion about the game...between St. Cloud and...Notre Dame.

Notre Dame plays the same boring style as Wisconsin.

(All defense, trap, rarely attacking so it's like watching a 4 corner stall in basketball.
There will be a lot of neutral zone play that will bore you to death.
They'll stack 3 across at the blue line.
Packing it in the box so they get a lot of blocks or sticks deflections.
You just end up watching them pass it back and forth to each other's team till you fall asleep trying to break the blue line.
I almost couldn't take the Wisconsin game anymore when it took the Wisc D almost 20 seconds to start a breakout from behind the net).

So it's really important to get the first goal to get them out of that or it's going to be one long afternoon. Plus it will be a lot more exciting game to watch and not that abomination we saw last Friday.

Really? Based on how well ND played in the CCHA tournament I think they come out of this region.

Just wanted to add that I hope they don't throw their sticks to prevent goals, tackle guys out front that don't have the puck or double hook a guy on the breakaway and the refs look up in the rafters for those shiny spots in their eyes.

How many times have you watched ND play this year?

I disagree... packing the box can be really, really exciting stuff.

I watched the ND/Mich game. Good game till they got up and I saw 4 in the neutral zone when the puck was breaking out from behind the Michigan net. About all I could handle from then on.

Ummm... any reason why?

If the Gophers make the Regional Final, I have a date to watch the game on Saturday night. If they lose to Yale I don't know what I have.
