30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

The best Oswego player to ever wear the number 17 was Dave Lair. He is the all-time leading scorer for the school, and he should be in the SUNY Oswego Hall of Fame. But I enjoyed Brad Dormiedy too, he was a great defensive forward who knew how to shut down opposing forwards and all his four years skated with Neil Musselwhite. Now that number belongs to David Titanic, who seems to be getting better with age. As a senior I think Titanic will be really good this year.

Take a look at page 34.

While the Lair Jet is the best player to ever play D3 he graduated before I was even born. My favorite number 17 for Oswego is Joe Garafolo. He was a pretty good scorer with 142 career points but he was the best open ice hitter I have seen for the Lakers in my time watching the team. You were playing with fire if you tried to get after Brian DeFeo or some of the other good players because chances were they would be scraping you off the ice shortly after.

+1 for you, Norm. He is definitely in my ring of honor, right up there with Selleck, Rick Pratt, Ryan Scott, Andrew Hare, and many others.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

Add Kevin Flynn, Mike Snell, Art Federow, Tom McFall, Paul Mueller, Mike Lukajic, Joe Carrabs and Greg Preston and there's your ring !

#16 is a tough one, but for Plattsburgh I'll throw in Steve Plaskon class of 1986.

He also holds a strange record for a former Cardinal find him on this ECHL INDIVIDUAL RECORDS list  though not one of Emery's players

My #16s are C.J. Thompson, an ace playmaker who starred with the 2007 title team, and power forward Andrew Mather, who was a real jack-of-all-trades forward who proved that with ample ice time he could do good things.

Norm, you know who might set an ECHL record by Platty alumni (and just for the record I am an Oswego fan/student) is Dylan Clarke. He's still playing in the ECHL, I think he's with the Evansville Icemen.

CJ and Mather were both good players and excellent choices. But my choice for number 16 is Mike Lukajic. Mike was not a real fast skater but he had an NHL caliber shot and he had a nose for the net, finishing his career with 91 goals and 144 points. He and Don Patrick formed the best duo I have seen in a Laker uniform accounting for 196 points in 02-03 and 03-04.

Missed yesterday due to travellling.....

Number 17 - Kurtis Mclean. No question on this, no debate. While Nikita Kashirshy was a very good player, Kurtis was simply great.

Number 16 - Marshall Lee - tall rangy forward

#15
or, the number of "participation voided by the NCAA Committee on Infractions" for the SEC.

For Platty, how about Gates "The Great" D'Anjou ('79-82). One of the greatest pure talents to ever play at this level. He is #10 in scoring for Plattsburgh despite playing only 3 years~!! He averaged 32 goals and 30 assists per year while playing in two NCAA Finals with the Cards. Pro-rated, he would be top 3 in Card history. Had NHL skills as per Jacques Lemaire, who coached him. Great, funny guy as well. Not exactly fluent in English!! #15 - Gaetan D'Anjou !!

#15, well, as a Laker, fleet-footed Garren Reisweber was the most important #15. He won the national title for us!
Also, for his two seasons, Justin Fox was a good power forward while wearing the number 15. Then Zach Josepher, who was a solid defenseman, also sported the number 15.

And according to hockeydb.com, he played 7 games in the QMJHL before going to Plattsburgh. He wouldn't even be eligible to play in the NCAA under current rules!

Norwich # 15 Kyle Thomas, speed, size, knack for some big goals. Next would be a toss up between Jim Koehler, Vadim Beliaev, and Lance Harrington. All three were good players, but I'd give nod to Lance knowing what issues he dealt with.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

Zach Josepher with Justin Fox a close second.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

I missed #16 yesterday, but I have to add mine... While he was by no means a star athlete he gave it all while he was on the ice. A great person, a good teammate and a good friend that is missed my many. Peter Kaliscik wore #16 for the Cardinals and is greatly missed by his teammates and friends in the area. RIP Petey!

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

#14 day, and I'm gonna go with Paul Rodrigues. He is the 2013 Player of the Year, and Paul had speed, skill and the ability to dominate. Gonna miss him in Oswego because he was amazing and he was a clutch scorer.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

As the Junior has pointed out, it I'd now the turn of #14. Yes folks, there are two weeks until the official start of practice and qualifying.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

#14 -- Marc Belanger...I still recall his game winning goal, that produced SNC's first Ntl Championship in Lake Placid.
