30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

great thread, except it should be your favorite jersey....and thats coming from a guy who cant spell for sheyet...I just noticed the misssspelllling...anyway,we all have our favorites, dont mean 1 is better than the other,im done

Excellent list ! I might take Joey Wilson over John Wells though. Although Seidel could dangle, I like Dennie Poulin (126 pts. in 2 years) over Eric (133 pts. in 4 years). But that's just because I'm older than hell. Something else just occurred to me.....wasn't the talented Steve Moore #27 ??? He was a monster !

Yes very good playera. Keep in mind this isn't "the best players to play jersey #" that would be a different story.

I noticed that a day after I started the thread. Like some folks who like to drop the "g" at the end of words, I have trouble with "r's".

Aarrrgh!

Ahh, number 18.

For Norwich, it has to be Bryce Herperger. Helped make that number one line go. Emmond Bell was a hard nosed player, gutting it out, and Chris Petracco also, but Bryce has to be the favorite here.

For the Cardinals # 18, Jim Duran. A great leader and another guy with a Nat'l Championship ring to boot.

Favorite #18: Owen Kelly, hardworking penalty killer with a lot of heart and a penchant for scoring big goals against his hometown team Plattsburgh. As I see it, the city of Oswego gave SUNY Plattsburgh Owen Benjamin, the city of Plattsburgh gave SUNY Oswego Owen Kelly and to me I think that worked just fine. He was one of the best defensive forwards Oswego has ever known.

Peter DeArmas #18 before going to #19 scored a goal or 2 ;)

"The Lair Jet" !! He and Joey Ferras are the two most explosive players in Conference history. Make that DII/III history. I think a check of the record book would show they are 1/2 on the all-time scoring list. He was just a point machine from his first shift at Oswego. His linemates changed and he continued to pile 'em up. I know a lot of oldtimers who've been following for a long time think he might be the best ever. Kind of surprised he didn't do more in the pros.?? Old-school sniper. Oswego hasn't really honored him enough IMO>

By no means the average hockey player.

I agree with most of this but I will go with Andy Rozak as my favorite number 18. He was an incredible passer who ended his career with 107 assists, served as captain his senior year and was just an exciting player to watch.

#17 -- Have at it. I'm going back to bed.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

Dave Lair - Oswego easily. Others of note : Potsdam's Fraser Smith '09 and Randy Frederick '83 were good players. Pier-Luc Belanger played one year at Plattsburgh and could've been a contender. Same with Myles Palliser (Rookie of the year in '04) of the Bears.

Re: 30 day countdown to the official start - you favorite jersey #

The best Oswego player to ever wear the number 17 was Dave Lair. He is the all-time leading scorer for the school, and he should be in the SUNY Oswego Hall of Fame. But I enjoyed Brad Dormiedy too, he was a great defensive forward who knew how to shut down opposing forwards and all his four years skated with Neil Musselwhite. Now that number belongs to David Titanic, who seems to be getting better with age. As a senior I think Titanic will be really good this year.
